Trump Abandons the Kurds

Say that to one of the men who fought side by side with them and one of them will probably put a knot on your head.

 

How does someone fighting with the Kurd's create any obligation for America? I think you have it tail-backward. We owe the Kurds nothing, and we've already given them more than we owe them, as shown by that guy fighting along side them. The Kurds, like our other middle-east one-way allies, are money pits for us, and are regional troublemakers.

He'd probably get more than a knot in his head in return. What a shame for surviving over there just for his stupidity to end him here.

Nonense. Isis beheaded a number of US citizens and two have now been handed over to US custody. I hope they get what tney deserve.

 

All the kurds have to do it stop their aggression and live in peace. We have no business using our men and women to help them in their agenda.

 

How do you live in peace with someone who wants to murder you?

 

My cousin is married to Janet, a lady from a Turkish Christian minority. The Turks call them Armenians,they call themselves Syriac. She has a photo of her grandmother pointing down a well where 150 Chriistians had been thrown after being murdered. The Turks have always denied minorities rights or that there are minorities, Janet's people are not allowed to write in their own language,only Turkish is allowed.

 

Since they've been handed over to US custody, let's take them and leave. We have no business in Syria.

 

So we will abandon our allies to be murdered by Turkey just as we broke our treaties with the Indians? Why don't we leave Germany? They have gone commie and might have a better state department if they were ruled by Russia who has a better state department than we do.

 

Turkey is our ally. The Kurds are just Iranian terrorists we joined up with because we both wanted to destabilize Iraq in the past (and then both wanted to fight ISIS). We helped them with their goals, even though we had no honest self-interest to do so. Everything the Kurds did, they did for themselves. They didn't do anything for us, so we owe them nothing. And, if they weren't terrorists, Turkey wouldn't be doing anything to them. But, if they weren't terrorists, the US wouldn't have allied with them in the first place (they would have been no use to us).

Yes, we should pull troops out of Germany. But, at least those troops aren't there to nation build nor fight anyone else's battles (at the moment, or any time soon). They were put there as as result of a military threat by a Communist superpower against very close Christian European allies. They weren't put there under false pretenses nor to protect Muslim "allies". And, now it's time for them to come back to America. The Cold War is over. Besides, with where Germany is going, Russian rule would be an improvement.

 

The trouble is that Turkey is our ally in name only now that Russia is not a threat to Turkey for the time being. The Kurds live in several countries for many years and have been our allies for many decades.

Thge Kurds have Been put down by the Arabs and Turkey for years. When we overthrew the Turkish empire in 1917 and with the French carved out the nations in the middle east we should have given the Kurds their own homeland, Kurdistan.

 

It's a bit late for that. So, then what? Don't answer, it's none of your business.

Latest news is that the Syrian army will join Kurds to force Turkey out, Russia may be involved then.

In the Iraq-Iran war (through the entire Reagan presidency), the US backed Iraq (including providing Iraq with WMDs). The Kurds (ethnic Iranians) fought on the side of Iran and hundreds of of thousands of them were killed by the US-Saddam Hussein alliance. No, the Kurds are not our allies. The Kurds have never been our allies. The US switched sides in 1991, but the Kurds kept on doing, and only doing, what they were already doing, and all for themselves -- fighting legitimate governments in various countries, ala ISIS, to carve out land to control.

You've been busy drinking the toxic Kool-Aid, served at places like the Carpro Cafe, by the neocon dogs of war who want you to think the Kurds are peace-loving Christians who came to our cause, rather than the other way around.
