After all the years of good SBC pastors ridiculing our Charismatic brethren for having prophets, we now have the "pastor, preacher, prophet" J.D.G as our president; again.

Are There Modern Day Prophets in the Church? – Summit Life with J.D. Greear

"I am very grateful for the prophets God has raised up in our Christian culture."

"my friend David Platt.... another example: Mark Dever"

"God is using them to speak to us. We must heed the message being given and ask God what we need to do with the truths they embody."

"I should note, I am not saying that modern-day prophets carry the same authority as Old Testament prophets. Old Testament prophets were revealing new messages from God; modern day prophets are merely elevating already-revealed messages to us....we can still recognize them as an appointed messenger from God"

The article also says Platt preaches at a "Secret Church" somewhere for 6 hrs straight - - what's *that* all about?

The old litmus for prophets is still just as true today: If what he/she prophesies always comes to pas, that prophet is from God. And it must be something unexpected. If I prophesy that the sun shall rise in the east in my area at 0609 hrs. this morn & it does, am I then a prophet?

It isn't a secret church. It is the name of a Bible study event held at his church.

So...not real prophets? Sounds wishy washy.

IMHO, J.D. has an identity crisis.
He is an embarrassment to the SBC.

J.D. Greear has redefined "prophet" to mean a preacher. In doing so, he decreases the authority of the the true prophets in the Bible.

J.D. is a joke. He is quite spineless and blows whatever way the breeze takes him. Disgraceful that he is president of SBC.

Let’s not forget that his congregation was so woke that they didn’t even know they were SBC, & had to be placated by JD, with all the $’s that they were receiving from the SBC. He was using everybody when you think of it, & got rewarded with being pres. That should tell you just how far the SBC has fallen. Charletans playing the money/power game.

His associate pastor's wife was his 'hype man' in his campaign for the SBC Presidency:
