Lately, I have been getting "news article" of the Daily sun as Pop-ups on my page.
It takes up a good 1/8 of my page.
I close it and then another article pops up

    advice???

You probably downloaded some "free" program that contained ad-ware. If you downloaded something recently--a game, an app--delete it and see if the ads disappear.

Check your system with a scan by Malwarebytes. They have a premium version that cost, but their free version does just fine. The main advantage of the premium version is that it live scans your system. The free version does scans the system but you have to initiate it. Just do a scan with the free version. It might remove the popup without doing anything else.

Other than that, it may be time to clear your browser. Clear the cookies, temporary pages, offline data, etc. Sometimes doing that will get rid of that type of stuff. Also, your search engine may be causing some of your problems. I switched to Duck Duck Go and after I did, I have decided I will never go back to Google. It really cuts down on all the targeted ads that I see on Facebook (especially) and other websites.

I do the (free) Malwarebytes about one a week - and have done do for the past year or so.
Guess, I will have to clear the browser.

Phone or laptop? What operating system?

Go to control panel/programs and features and look through the list and see if there is anything that you don't recognize. The publisher and date installed can help identify the different programs. You might be able to find the culprit.
