Racist? I wasn't the one complaining about a beauty queen just because she was black.

You enable ‘white privilege’ sellers with your cavalier ‘we’re better than than that’ attitude. You are playing by their rules of engagement which never prevails. You will win the battle, in your mind, & lose the war. You need to think about the big picture & the future your grandchildren will inherit. I want a fair & equal future for mine. Your statement of ‘just because she was black’ is just how they want you to react. It’s racist. Congratulations, you lose.

"People of color" are not alike in many aspects. When whites become the minority I expect Mexicans/Latinos will outnumber the blacks and control the country. They do not have "white guilt". Therefore, they will not cater to blacks the way whites do. The results? All ethnic groups will be expected to earn their keep. No more lifetime welfare benefits.

No, it will be status quo. Hispanics believe in papa gobierno, papa government. Latin America is overwhelmingly socialist and has huge numbers of communists like Pope Francis. In South Africa, the government and police do not help whites. That is what will happen here.

Didn't see any of the three pageants, don't know how fair they were, but I really can see the problem here beyond this. You have regular Miss America thing, which is now open to women of all races. In the past, it excluded blacks, so it had the Black Miss America thing. Black Miss America is therefore dated, a throwback to the past. Having black-only anything is just multiculturalism - we can all live in the same space in parallel cultures. Bad bad idea if you go by history.

I really didn't know that they searched through jungles for tribal chiefs. That must be exctinig. I wish they would film a documentary of their expeditions.

Anyway, Castro has never been a tribal chief, just a bloody red Marxist/Communist. For him, our illustrious Congressional Black Caucus members were useful idiots. They were so greatly deceived that Castro could have passed gas into their faces and they would have called it a breath of fresh air.

I only brought up the Black Caucus thing because the thread topic seemef to express a one-sided acceptance of racial exceptionalism. I offered a look at the Black Caucus as a high-level example to bolster that view point.

Che was even more open in his hatred of blacks than Fidel and Raul, who killed and imprisoned mostly blacks. Che wrote in his infamous motorcycle diaries:
“The blacks, those magnificent examples of the African race who have maintained their racial purity thanks to their lack of an affinity with bathing, have seen their territory invaded by a new kind of slave: the Portuguese.” “The black is indolent and a dreamer; spending his meager wage on frivolity or drink; the European has a tradition of work and saving, which has pursued him as far as this corner of America and drives him to advance himself, even independently of his own individual aspirations.” Robert Redford had to know about Che before he made his propaganda movie for Hollywood.

Part of the reason that the super rich and privileged Castros attacked the dictator Batista was because he was half-black. Castro called Batista racist names to vile to post on the Baptist Board.

So, yeah, the Black Caucus got fooled but they probably knew it all along and wanted to be fooled.

I guess that I just don't get "the sky is falling" point of a black beauty queen or even four of them.

This isn't the first time of a "whoa is us - the beauty queen is black" has been discussed on the BB. And it always seems to grow into a rant against black pageants and black leaders and black politicians and black organizations.

And then the cherry on top - our white future and our white children's futures are threatened. I don't know what that means, but since I've made no headway here in making my point and I've been called a liar when I said that I didn't express concern over a black beauty queen [that makes no sense at all because I indeed did not ]….

….I'll leave you all to the doomsday discussion.

P.S. As I said, the "blackness" of queens and pageants has been a topic here before - at least twice that can remember. It isn't the "blackness" of pageants that's the problem. I won't hold my breath waiting on you all to figure out what is the problem.

    C'est la vie.

I didn't see any of the contests so wouldn't really have an opinion as to who should have won the "beauty contests". Personally, if I were to look at skin it would be more about the muscular shape and balance behind it than the color of it. I wouldn't give or take any points for color other than I might discount the pale look of one that appears she's never seen the sun,. That said, for Miss America contest they banned both the swimsuit and evening gown competitions, apparently because of hangups over physical beauty, so IMO they should call it a talent contest instead. Physical beauty isn't everything but it is still a major apart of beauty and in a society where 2/3rd of the population is obese and growing perhaps some physical competition shouldn't be completely ignored.

I have known Miss Scarlett for many years. Two things you can always count on when having a discussion with you: she is honest and she is never boring.

You called her a liar. Now back it up with facts.

You called her boring. It is possible she saw you as a half-wit and typed slowly and used small words so you could keep up.

Anyway, when you resort to name calling 20 lines into a thread you demonstrated you had nothing of value to offer. Learn some manner. That would be a good place to start.

The only reason I would give a "flip" is that it shows the hypocrisy of some. On one hand - it is said that all should be equal and open to all
but in certian instances only "certian people" can participate. And I also have seen that in some women (note: Scarlett, I said some - not all:Speechless)

I don't have a problem with contestants showing physical fitness. But you can tell if a young woman is physically fit with her wearing an appropriate t-shirt and appropriate length shorts and sneakers.

My primary problem is that beauty pageants are just …..well, passé'. We need to encourage young women and young men to live healthy life styles, keeping their bodies, minds, hearts, and souls in good condition. But pageants, beginning with the ones for pre-schoolers, are just too sexualized and encourage a Kardashian mindset.

I'm surprised these pageants survived feminism. They really are a blast from the past, women competing with each other over looks, there's nothing comparable for men. I think their "wholesomeness" went out the window long ago with the advent of plastic surgery, especially implants.

Such an antiquated notion that's trying to be PC, watch a tran win before long. Miss America to feminism is the blackface minstrel shows to racism.

These pageants are a joke compared to what they use to be, so don't think feminism hasn't done anything. EDITED The pageants are just an example. I could have pointed to Google doing an audit and found white males are the most underpaid at Google, yet Google is being pressured to discriminate against white males even more. I could have brought up SAT scores between the races. So, why are we still taught blacks are discriminated against instead of ending all forms of racial discrimination?
