"I feel disappointment in Mr. Galli’s self-righteous, condemning, judgmental assessment of the President"

"On December 20, Mark Galli, the editor-in-chief of Christianity Today magazine who is scheduled to retire on January 3, 2020,...published an editorial entitled: Trump Should Be Removed From Office."

"One week before Christmas–and every day of the year for that matter–the message of evangelicals is....Jesus. He is the Light of the world who has come to shine upon those who sit in the darkness....He has come to give us life. And love. And hope. It’s the same message the angels announced at the very first Christmas in Bethlehem"

"My father, Billy Graham, was the founder of Christianity Today. My grandfather, L. Nelson Bell, was the first editor. If I were sitting tonight at the kitchen table in my father’s house and this controversy came up, I know exactly what both men would say: Mark Galli and Christianity Today have gone off message."

"I am...keenly disappointed in [Galli's] departure from the message. I, for one, want to stay on message. Please. Stay on it"

I guess Anne hasn't noticed that a lot of evangelicals — like her brother — ran off the rails years ago and is still plowing cross-country to parts unknown and might need some friendly correction to get back on track with real ministry. Just a thought.

To the contrary, I think she has noticed that some evangelicals have gone off the rails And addressed it.

I am at a loss to explain Anne's response. She knows that her dad misstepped in becoming involved in partisan politics yet seems oblivious to her brother's jumping into the mosh pit.

No. You're not. You just don't like her response. Evidently , you prefer Galli's.

Then the Grahams are much stupider than I had imagined (except for Franklin).

You, of course, mean Lott. So why has Franklin, who has a wonderful evangelical ministry, spent so much time on not preaching the gospel but being a boot-licking political lackey?

I think Franklin has lost his focus. He is called to preach the gospel, not preach control by politic. We are likely not far off in our thoughts about Franklin.
If you know the history of her grandfather, Nelson Bell, you will realize that he worked tirelessly to reach the world with the gospel. He founded CT to call Christians to share the gospel. I think Anne Graham Lott is calling the magazine back to its origin. She would do well to call her brother to that origin.

yes the preaching of the gospel is of the utmost importance, however there has been or have entered into our history certain sins that are difficult for the preacher of the gospel to ignore e.g. slavery, abortion, child trafficking ...

in our 21st century, abortion and infanticide are troublesome for many of the brethren and interfere with the work of the church.

Many missionaries upon arriving at their mission field have great difficulty dealing with the poor social and living conditions of the masses they serve which also interferes with the advance of the gospel.

one of my daughters went on a temporary summer mission in high school and was shocked and forever changed by actually seeing poverty in the flesh.

think about dirt floors, no running water, no electricity... one or all of these, its another world and it does exist.

sometimes it is almost impossible to look the other way.

Anne is the better preacher, their father said so.

And her name is Anne Graham Lotz!

    @07:59
"[Ezra] taught God's Word, he taught the Scriptures.
He did not teach 'his opinions'.
He did not teach 'world events'.
He did not teach 'human rights'.
He did not teach 'social reform' or 'political change'.
    He taught the Scriptures! "

    Amen, Sister!

Doesn't have to be on a reservation.
God is bringing the world to our doorstep. Do we open the door and preach reconciliation or do we shut the door and argue Arminian vs Calvinist? Are we building with gold, silver and precious stones or are we using wood, hay and stubble?

Christian retreat from politics is main reason U.S. has gone to Hell in a handbasket.
