Spurgeon was using it in reference to the salvation of men. We come to God and plead the blood of Christ in our salvation. It is because of the blood of Christ that we are saved.

Pleading the blood, after salvation, as a means to get God to honor our prayer request as if it makes our request a sure thing as a result of doing so in not in fact biblical.

agreed, as those in Charismatic churches who keep pleading the blood to ward of Satan and to get healed are using that sacred thing as those holding to bones and relics of so called saints having intrinsic powers!

    Nope.
You are just upset that I don't agree with your theory about hedges.
The thread is about "pleading the blood" and I added the "pray a hedge around you" phrase as another example of phrases that are odd comments. I then added that I think the "hedge" phrase is man-centered. You take exception to my view. Fine. I disagree with your view. Fine.
Have I talked you off the cliff yet, Mr Mitchell?

The charismatic folks do not understand scripture nor do they want to. They apply it just however they want to to fill their emotion fest services with as much drama as possible. Further, I know first hand that without all that drama they do not feel like they can maintain their faith.

It doesn't surprise me that your priest would teach you this. Is there a requirement for catsup, mustard and pickles?

This is why I made the initial connection between Catholic mysticism and Pentacostal mysticism. Both treat God as a magic wielding genie.

I fell sorry for some are caught up in it, as they are really saved, and yet are being captured and controlled by wolves in pulpits, teaching doctrines of demons!

All you need to know about issues in Charismatic chaos is when their leaders claim that by the Law of faith even God must bow to us!

Is is possible that the statement "praying a hedge" around someone is more for the person for whom we are interceeding? Kind of a type or figure so that they can at least begin to wrap their mind around the reality of the efficacy of intercession?
As far as "pleading the blood". Would that have to be limited to salvation? Perhaps spiritual strongholds, addictions, etc. Could be approached with the mindset of "pleading the blood" as a scriptural reminder of the victory wrought at the cross for every believer. Not just that sins were forgiven but the blood offered once for all is sufficient for our daily temptations as well?
Rather than incantations and personal power over the Lord they should be viewed as powerful reminders of our weakness and our utter dependance on Him.

Psalm 80:12 —> “Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?“

Psalm 89:40 —> “Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.”

Looks like I’m pitching a no hitter. One more strike and you’re out.

You should at least take a swing at one of these. There’s nothing worse than watching someone strike out looking.

I have already shown him those verse. He cannot deal with that actual verses so he plays games. There seems to be a lack of integrity with this one. You best just to leave him to his misery and move on.

I can deal with the verses, they just have zero application to "praying a hedge around someone."

you have no idea what you are talking about. You created your own version of that analogy and then assigned your version to everyone else so you could knock it down. You are wrong about how it is used, you are wrong about the verses, and you are wrong about everything dealing with this. Par for the course with you.
