I think it could matter as a measurement of views. If Calvinism is on the decline then there could be reasons other than the doctrine itself (same for the other side).

if it did, the single fastest growing group is charismatics, especially those claiming new doctrines and experiences of the Holy Spirit, are they holding to sound doctrines then?

We all need to be careful to not equate "growth" or "numbers" with the work of the Holy Spirit or the approval of God upon a certain method, mode, or person.

"JonC,
You posted this very thing, I did not make it up. That kind of confused thought would not enter my mind, lol

It is not anyone else's opinion, it is yours. You have claimed this and many for some reason do not think this was in any way the case.
You have made a claim but there is no evidence of such a thing.

Why is this in question?
You have claimed in times past that you were a Calvinist, and yet no Calvinist denies that man died spiritually at the time of the fall.
No Calvinist denies the Spirit given understanding described in 1 Cor2.
No Calvinist denies penal substionary atonement.

You can claim whatever you want, you can believe anything you want.
We can read your posts and believe what we do.

You inserted your claims into these threads. This is not the first time you have done so. That makes it okay to ask for evidence of your claim.
I have not seen it in your posts, so it is reasonable to ask, where is it?

Perhaps if you could take some time before you post, gather your thoughts, so that when you post, you do not have to remove it, and then say you did not say this or that. How about you try that:Cautious

Your posts are not complex, but borderline incoherent and contradictory.

That is not the concern of the OP. I do not recall anyone requesting your philosophy on this.

.

Said no Calvinist ever.
haha...you did no such thing. Post that post, let's look together. You want to be believed, but you cannot even restore your own post:Cautious
What you imagined was that I was speaking of Calvinism as being humanism and elevating man over God. Perhaps you should concentrate on what is said, ask questions, and refrain from making false conclusions
Not at all. I read your post. I did not imagine anything. I read your post. My conclusion was based on reading what you posted, plain and simple.
Once again we see the old pattern as others have noticed it.

False assertion, dishonest, red herring, and ad hominem. Does not address doctrine offered at all. Just foolish and confused ramblings.

When my father-in-law was in his 80's he thought dwarves were stealing his mail. This was his only delusion. I guess when I get older I may also see dwarves at the mailbox. The thing about delusions is the delusional person does not recognize the confusion. Sometimes people are like this. It is what it is and we deal with what we have.

JonC,

Yes, you finally have confessed to all these things, now if you repent you will come full circle! Still did not restore the post which would say all that needs to be said.

23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

If it does not address the doctrine it is because these posts of yours that I responded to, did not address doctrine.
My JR. High football coach explained to me, you cannot make chicken salad out of chicken poop.

Inappropriate request (members have the right to have posts without replies removed when they realize they lacked clarity).

Stop trying to bully people. It will not work.

Stop being childish. Deal with doctrine, not ad hominem.

This is a Christian forum. Act as if you are Christian while posting here.

John I can see you have not changed. your accusations continue.
You go your way, I will go mine.

I am a Christian and post as one.

You said I was weird.
I know why.
Truth is important to me and as a Christian, it is not optional as you make fun of it. Your name-calling does not change anything.

I have no need to respond in kind.

Here is what you posted; it is not ,truthful, kind, or necessary

it was you who stalked me to the other board.....do you deny that also

JonC,
Inappropriate request (members have the right to have posts without replies removed when they realize they lacked clarity).
Sure, except when it said something different. You gave a secondary explanation. Maybe I did not read it properly, if you show it we can know for certain.
You said I imagined it. I say I read it. We know what is true
:Cautious

Asking you to post it is not bullying anyone. It is to clarify. If I misread it, I will acknowledge it. If I read it exactly as written, will you say so?[
Not much doctrine has been presented.
The name calling has not been posted from my keyboard.

Actually, quite a bit has been offered.

What I said on this thread was in answer to your question about how my view differed from yours. I answered in detail and you chose to ignore my reply and insult me.

I offered observations from a Reformed site. You ignored my quote and instead decided to insult me.

I replied but realized my post was unclear and not true to what I wanted to express and I removed it. Now you try to bully me into reposting it so you can address what I concluded was not expressive of my position.

What I said was weird was you demanding I post personal information on the public forum. That was creepy and seemed a bit sleezy (like some of those phishing calls and emails).

You have an agenda against anyone who dares to disagree with you. You bully and insult. You misrepresent other people and their views. You bear false witness against other Christians, assume motivations for their posts, slander Christians, disrespect privacy of members, assume anyone who disagrees with you does so out of ignorance, you gossip about members of this board, and you do so with a sence of arrogance while constantly playing the victim when caught in your deceptions. The sad part is you seem to link your agenda against Christians as you falsely accuse and slander them for daring to disagree with you as some divine commission.

You will remain in my prayers. I know you have the zeal of Saul. I pray God will give you the heart of Paul. You may not be able to change your "spots", but God can. Lean on God, trust in His Word and not your understanding. Then we can discuss doctrine as brothers as you will see no need for false accusations or bullying. That is the lesson of the leopard's spots. Walk in light and not in darkness.

I will not respond in kind to this 9th commandment violation.
I will leave it to God and the readers to decide.
I have posted openly with nothing to hide.
I have a clear conscience not having been deceitful, or dishonest.
That is what happens when a person is honest.
I responded so this post is visible, and not deleted as you like to do.

Wait, I never followed you to another board. This is bearing false witness (a sin, BTW). I am a member of several boards. I think you are on a couple but I never followed you there (in terms of going there because you were there).

This is the type of false accusations I am talking about. I was here first, so I guess you followed me here. Were you stalking me?????

This is why I worry about you. You do seem to have no convictions about your deception.

Yet you falsely concluded I stalked you to another board.

You demand I post what I removed for not expressing my thoughts accurately do you can engage how you would interpret those ideas.

You link people to their accounts here.

You demand I give out my church information.

You slander and gossip about Christians.

You bear false witness about the breathen.

You insult anyone who does not agree with your opinions.

And to top it off it does not seem to bother you at all.
