My point is that it was a swipe at Calvinism that is illogical and unnecessary and shouldn't have been posted in the first place.

How do you know it was a swipe? Just by virtue of the fact that it shows that he did not get there by himself. A faction put him there simply because he is a calvie and they agree with on these liberal views?

I did not see it as a swipe at Calvinism as a whole since he is one but pointing out that there is a strong liberal faction within calvinism in the SBC.

There is also a strong conservative faction as well.

And I'm sure only Calvinists voted for Greear right? Ridiculous.

Right so what is the point? It is ridiculous to even suggest that Calvinism is the reason he was nominated in the first place. If that is not what is being argued, why even bring up Calvinism?

No one brought up calvinism. He did mention calvinists. Some of you are not good at reading into things.

JD Grear and many SBC leaders caused me to flee to the Independent Fundamental Baptists. I am quite happy there, I have no big issues theologically anymore.

Did you know, Greear went the other way, left IFB for Conventionism?

In 2018 Greear twittered condolences and a snapshot he took at the funeral of Bobby Roberson:

Probably a lot of you will be surprised to know that I never liked Greear and I think that he is a dummy and as mean as Russell Moore. Hey, RCC, you are not the only denomination to have to try to rid yourselves of cultural marxists.

My point is that the new breed of Calvinists in the SBC are moving the convention toward Liberalism. The new Calvinists are not conservative like the older ones. For the record, Arminians are almost non-existent in the SBC.

Its not a swipe at Calvinism at all. You need to become aware that the prominent Calvinists in the SBC are not the fundamentalists you think they are. They are attempting to drive the convention left. They are nothing like John Macarthur. Calvinism must be mentioned because they get the votes because they dupe the well meaning Calvinists into supporting them. If you dont like J.D. you should lay the blame for his election squarely at the feet of the Calvinists. They put him into office.

Ok, rather than just saying Calvinist with a broad brush why don't you call out the individuals in question?

There was no broad brush. The Calvinists came out in droves to elect J.D. Why? Because he was a Calvinist until he got elected. As soon as elected, he forgot what he was. If I was a Calvinist who supported him, I would be irate.
