I was quite taken aback by the comments on Fidel Castro that Bernie Sanders made. If his brand of 'Socialism" includes the ideas of the Cuban Revolution which Castro brought in and devastated the island and people of Cuba, then he will certainly alienate Hispanics to say nothing of Cubans.

"Bernie Sanders said 'it's unfair to simply say everything is bad' about Fidel Castro's Cuba...
Bernie Sanders defended his past comments on communist leader Fidel Castro that focused on social programs installed by the despot.

During that interview, a clip of which aired on CBS Sunday night, Sanders counted healthcare and education among the reasons that the Cuban people didn’t rise up and overthrow Castro after his 1959 revolution.

Bernie Sanders defends his 1980s comments about Fidel Castro in an interview on 60 Minutes. https://t.co/ySqvQKoiBU pic.twitter.com/lTwuXWp9sA

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio wrote on Twitter to reject Sanders' remarks, writing that Sander was "wrong about why people didn't overthrow Castro."

"It's not because 'he educated their kids, gave them health care' it's because his opponents were jailed, murdered or exiled," Rubio said in the tweet.

Rubio's fellow Florida lawmaker, Democratic Rep. Donna Shalala, wrote on Twitter that she hoped Sanders would "take time to speak to some of my constituents before he decides to sing the praises of a murderous tyrant like Fidel Castro."

    Socialism Truth Bomb…

Venezuelans warn the US about socialism/communism. One in three is going hungry there according to the leftists at AP, so it’s probably worse than that. So to combat his faux pas the last couple of days where he let’s too much information slip about his beliefs......Bernie promises free child care to everyone, & of course, billionaires are gonna pay for it.

UN study: 1 of every 3 Venezuelans is facing hunger

Well, everyone loved Castro when he overthrew the corrupt Batista, even when Castro came to New York, but then...

"Fidel Castro arrives in New York City as the head of the Cuban delegation to the United Nations. Castro’s visit stirred indignation and admiration from various sectors of American society, and was climaxed by his speech to the United Nations on September 26.

By the time Castro arrived in New York City in September 1960, relations between the United States and Cuba were rapidly deteriorating. Since taking power in January 1959, Castro had infuriated the American government with his policies of nationalizing U.S. companies and investments in Cuba. Some American officials, such as Vice President Richard Nixon, believed that Castro was leaning perilously toward communism. (Castro did not publicly proclaim his adherence to communism until late-1961, when he declared that he was a “Marxist-Leninist”.) In March 1960, President Dwight D. Eisenhower ordered the CIA to begin training Cuban exiles to overthrow Castro’s regime. When the United States suspended the import of Cuban sugar in 1960, Castro’s government turned to the Soviet Union for economic assistance. The Russians were happy to oblige.

Malcolm X from the Nation of Islam and the poet Langston Hughes. On September 26, Castro delivered a blistering attack on what he termed American “aggression” and “imperialism.” For over four hours, Castro lambasted U.S. policy toward Cuba and other nations in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. The United States, he declared, had “decreed the destruction” of his revolutionary government." ...https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/castro-arrives-in-new-york

Castro began to show his true side, which I am afraid its only a matter of time before its uncovered in Bernie Sanders. Castro destroyed all facets of Cuban society, using promises to keep people on his side, but eventually they all figured it out. When I went to Cuba, I talked with people there and they all knew, but its too late to throw of the system as it has them firmly in its grasp.

Well, don't go to communist countries anymore. Any money you spend will be stolen by the military with Raul getting a cut.

Actually, there is a long list of New Yorkers and others who liked Castro, including the Wall Street Journal, which threw a big party for him. Also, billionaire Mortimer Zuckerman. Of course, Charlie Rangel, Maxine Waters.

All of this, while Fidel Castro was trying to get permission from the Soviets to have an atomic bomb dropped on NYC.

"First, there was a luncheon at the Council on Foreign Relations. After holding court there for a rapt David Rockefeller, along with Robert McNamara, Dwayne Andreas, and Random House’s Harold Evans, Castro flashed over to Mort Zuckerman’s Fifth Avenue pad, where a throng of Manhattan glitterati, including Mike Wallace, Peter Jennings, Tina Brown, Bernard Shaw, and Barbara Walters all jostled for a photo-op and stood in line for Castro’s autograph. Diane Sawyer was so overcome in the mass-murderer’s and warmonger’s presence that she rushed up, broke into that toothy smile of hers, wrapped her arms around Castro and gave him a warm smooch on the cheek."

Castro murdered more in his first 3 years than Hitler did in his first 6 years.

Some say that Barbara Walters was Fidel Castro's mistress at one time.

Castro was a womanizer, it was well known, but the media never let on. But to get back on the subject, the Democrats are looking at a brokered convention if they cant get a candidate with enough delegates to win on the first round of delegate voting at the convention. So who could the Democrats choose in a brokered convention if they block Bernie Sanders as it seems they will?

"Democratic Leaders Willing to Risk Party Damage to Stop Bernie Sanders

Interviews with dozens of Democratic Party officials, including 93 superdelegates, found overwhelming opposition to handing Mr. Sanders the nomination if he fell short of a majority of delegates.

WASHINGTON — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer, the minority leader, hear constant warnings from allies about congressional losses in November if the party nominates Bernie Sanders for president. Democratic House members share their Sanders fears on text-messaging chains. Bill Clinton, in calls with old friends, vents about the party getting wiped out in the general election.

And officials in the national and state parties are increasingly anxious about splintered primaries on Super Tuesday and beyond, where the liberal Mr. Sanders, of Vermont, edges out moderate candidates who collectively win more votes.

Dozens of interviews with Democratic establishment leaders this week show that they are not just worried about Mr. Sanders’s candidacy, but are also willing to risk intraparty damage to stop his nomination at the national convention in July if they get the chance."

It seems with all the dropouts that Biden will have a lot more than he expected, and Bernie getting blowback, lots of backroom politics going on.

If the Dems deny Bernie and his Israeli stents are still working showing his violation of BDS, won't the party bosses touch off riots by antifa? Bernie has lost Florida with his silly endorsement of the murderous Castros but Bernie is a utopian, too, and has the best of everything for himself. So Comrade Bernie will have riots all the way to November no matter what.

I am x military. I have lived under socialism/communism/dictator regimes. I was in the Philippines in 1967-68 under Ferdinand Marcus. Young kids today are quick to point out that democratic socialism is different. It is not.
A communist is simply a socialist with a gun, after he has taken my gun, then your gun, kept his gun, then boldly declares he is now a communist. Citizens vote themselves into socialism, then shoot their way out.

The Bern politico philosophy is not a socialist, communist or capitalist philosophy but a Frankensteinalist philosophy - a corpse philosophy with these 3 parts sewn together and sparked INTO LIFE by the jolt of THE AMERICAN DREAM.

    Truly a hideous creature!

Castro 1959..He pointed to the cross around his neck and said, 'me, a communist?' And this gave him the time he needed and he then proceeded to wipe out all the other leaders who had been fighting Batista and took power by force.

Not to derail the thread, but Batista was much-detested; he was in bed with the American Mafia, among others. He killed as many as castro did, if not more. (Not saying Castro was a saint, by any means !)

Batista was corrupt and got in with the Mafia, and those facilitators like JFK's father, yes Joe Kennedy. So we don't come to this with clean hands, but now you see why JFK was so desperate to get the Mafia off him, and wipe out basically the evidence. But that's another story...
