Taking a break.....

Sounds like a sensible idea. I might join you in that three month vacation. Maybe even a permanent one.

 

1. Why are you coming to a Christian site to read about politics?
2. Are you really outraged that women cannot be as godless and blatant a sinner as a man and still hold an office that requires trust and integrity? Shouldn’t men be condemned for immorality rather than women being excused for the same immorality?

Scarlett makes a good point about the double standards that are created for men and women. This is especially noticeable in conservative Christianity. The double-standard is often guised under "gender roles" as an excuse for chauvinist men to strut like proud peacocks and not be called out for their pride.

 

I'd rather you stay for the duration and beyond, but your also taking a break might keep me from saying here, "That's just what I'd expect from a woman." I'm sure I'll miss Scarlett O, but I can understand.

 

I never feel the need to announce it, but I come and go in cycles on this board. I think it's about time to go into semi-dormancy again. I cannot abide politics anymore. I have a difficult enough time with walking in a manner worthy of my profession. Maybe I can poke my head out after the inauguration of whoever is president.

 

I'm just now checking in after a semi break. I may continue breaking for a bit longer. It's hard to scroll through the front page and find almost zero threads that you think will be enjoyable to read/post in.

 

that hole may be a foxhole or hole in a wall,depending on who wins. Who knows? It may not be decided for awhile “after” the real election takes place. Oh well.
