    Good evening -

In Leviticus tonight, I found the story of the young Isrealite being stoned for blasphemy very interesting. Despite the Isrealite position on keeping their bloodline pure, God also instilled a need for equal justice, even toward the alien nationalities within their midst. The Egyptian half-breed was not blamed or punished in anyway in this story. The execution was left to the Jews, but the aliens must have felt a real empowerment in this account.

In Matthhew, I have always really liked the imagery described of the Triumphal entry. All of these people shouting, laying down coats and palm fronds for their Messaih, and He riding on a humble animal, the donkey. Last night we had read that the first must be last and here Jesus Christ demonstrates how humble He is. One thinks of a king being on a horse in full regalia, armed and gleaming, riding into town at a hard, fast trot. Not our King! He rode in on a borrowed little donkey at a slow canter!

In Acts, Paul's ministry is fully charged. He is healing others and survivng snake bites. After leaving Malta, Paul has finally reached Rome and we are entering the climax of the Book of Acts. Other believers have come from other provinces to encourage Paul. From this platform, Paul will appeal to the most powerful nation of his day, Rome.

    May God bless you

    - Clint

I love Psalm 46 from today's reading. I think it speaks for itself so I will just post it here from the ESV:

I need to take the advice from verse 10 and just "Be still" sometimes. I get so busy that often I don't take time to slow down and reflect on all that God has blessed us with and remember that He is in control even when we don't realize it. If God is our "refuge and strength" then we have no reason to fear anything even if the world around us seems to be falling apart. What a powerful Psalm!
