GOP candidate Gene Rechtzigel is running against Democrat Bette McCollum in Minnesota's fourth congressional district. Here's some excerpts from his website:

What makes you the best candidate for the job?
God has shown Gene Rechtzigel the vision of Equal Justice under the law of God's Grace in providing equality, prosperity, and liberty with happiness to all joining (voting) together as one united this November 3rd, 2020, as the power of the Holy Spirit of God unlocks all the blessings God has awaiting us all who in Faith step forth and vote for God's servant, Gene Rechtzigel, at your precinct voting location in Minnesota Congressional District 4, November 3rd, 2020 in claiming all the blessing's God will grant us all in victory, Amen.
    ----

"Only after both [the age of the Beasts to rise up is unripe by Faith], the Beast of the Earth and the Beast of the Sea, is driven out of the United States will the Peoples and Families of the earth have the freedom be Blessed through Great Britain, United States and Israel; Israel must be allowed to manage the Middle East and be allowed to Worship in the Temple; by Faith the Temple will bring World Peace and Prosperity of 1000 years to all families of the earth in the golden Age of Grace which is knocking at all families of all countries doors to be let in by Faith." - (written by Gene for People, January 6, 2017 at 12:22 AM, C.S.T.)

The Beast coming out of the Earth has a dark unquenchable (bottomless) appetite to be fed massive amounts of new national deficit spending, as often, as possible by it's elected political zombie surrogates, in both major political parties, and by the Beast coming out of the Sea...

      • The Beast that came out of the Sea is 100 years old now and Pompeo and Mattis both appear to be surrogates of the Beast of the Sea, from the comments both made in front of their respective confirmation hearings before the Senate panels.
      • Gene for People questions if Pompeo and Mattis are going to betray the American People again, by failing to make America great again, as Trump promised "to make America great again", but instead, disgracefully, "make America get deceived again."

Gene ran against attorney Sia Lo in the GOP primary in August and won. Here's what he said about his opponent a week before the primary:
    -----

GeneforPeople: Would "Sia Lo" bring bribery ("a bribe") back into office?

"Sia Lo, a policy adviser to then-St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly resigned his position in April 2005 after the FBI opened an investigation into whether he solicited a bribe from a funeral home developer to help get a construction project approved at City Hall." - May 3, 2017, Pioneer Press

"Sia Lo" is a Lawyer - "Lawyers rejected the counsel of God" - Luke 7:30

"Sia Lo" is a Lawyer - "Sia Lo" as a Lawyer is of the occupation that Jesus Christ condemned in Luke 11:46,52, saying "Woe unto you also, ye Lawyers! For ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers"....Jesus Christ warns and shouts - "Woe unto you, Lawyers! For ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered." - Luke 11:52

There is much, much, much more like this on his websites:
Vote Gene Rechtzigel for GENECARE - Gene for Congress
Gene for Congress - Republican, Gene Rechtzigel, Election

This man is running for US Congress. I am virtually certain there would be people on this forum that would vote for him, probably even work for his campaign.

[Just checked with my sister and there was a Rechtzigel family that owned a large farm and attended the IFB church we attended in the 70's. I'm 99% certain this guy is from that family.]

The Republican Party has also nominated a couple of QAnon aligned folks. The GOP is a wreck.

Ah, yes. "The Lesser of Two Evils".

Vote General Zod in 2020. Less Evil than the Other Two Guys.

Not the lesser of two evils. More like I won't vote for a Democrat even for dog catcher or even septic tank pumper.

Abortion being legal does not make single woman have an abortion. Just as alcoholic beverages being legal does not make a single person drink an alcoholic beverage or get drunk or drink and drive.

Why do we have any laws then? Murder laws do not stop all murders, but they stop most. Same if abortion were made illegal.

We have a civic responsibility draw clear distinctions concerning what we believe.

While a drunk driver may lead to death, abortions kill babies, each and every time it’s done.

    peace to you

Overturning Roe, which I am in favor of overturning, would simply restore the status quo ante. Most states, if not all, would still allow abortions to varying degrees and there will be groups that will fund women to travel from the most restrictive states to obtain an abortion. As much as I am in favor of overturning Roe, I think the result would be that the pro-birth folks would be disappointed that doing so didn't accomplish as much as they thought it would and the pro-choice folks would be surprised that it did not have as much of an impact as they thought it would.

No. It would not send it back to the States. For would be overturned based on the personhood of the baby. It would be a 14th Amendment case and abortion would be instantly in violation of Federal law.

Who told you that? The only folks I have heard say that are in the Constitution Party. Frankly, I think it is more likely that the SCOTUS won’t overturn Roe, even if ACB makes it onto the court, but will allow the states to continue to nibble around the edges of it. Totally overturning it would cause such an uproar and political turmoil that it is likely even a conservative majority on the SCOTUS would shy away from doing so, and just allow the states that want to do so to continue to place restrictions on the procedure.

I don’t believe there is any chance of overturning roe. Courts live on precedence.

Roe does mention viability. State restrictions, or federal restrictions, after viability should be upheld. Medical advancements make viability earlier than ever.

    peace to you

All the Republicans are talking about it and have been for many years.
It's been in GOP platform since 1984.

You say that the parties have changed since 1955 but your Libertarian Party would have been considered communist for their social platform in 1955. You don't want a constitutional amendment protecting the life of the unborn.
