    Good evening -

Beginning in today's reading of Ezekiel and continuing through the 43rd chapter, we ware reading about Ezekiel's Temple. I had it in my mind to present a diagram of this structure and I found many. However, this vision is the subject of many private interpretations and it was hard to find a diagram that did not delve into a private theology. Therefore, the link I am presenting you is a relatively low quality JPG but should suffice to give a visual aid to the reader:

    Ezekiel's Temple

In the Gospel of John today we witnessed the raising of Lazarus from the dead. In verse 39 we see that Lazarus is four days dead. It was a common belief among the Jews of this era that the soul would linger around the corpse for three days in hopes of re-entering it. For those who held this belief all hope was gone for Lazarus. This most amazing miracle has obvious parallels to the death and Ressurection of Christ Himself. As stated by our Lord, the whole incident was so that Jesus would be glorified.

In our readings from yesterday and today in the Book of 1John, we see the author continuing Christ's charge that we love one another. The command is two-fold: first that we believe in Jesus as the Christ and secondly that we love one another. The finest definition of love that the Scriptures offer us is found in 1Corinthians 13. This part of Christ's command is far too often forgotten among us.

    May God bless you

    - Clint
