You are still responding to what you believe I am saying instead of what I actually said. Nowhere did I say that I was saved by my works. Nowhere did I say or even imply that works are necessary for salvation. What you are doing is giving a canned answer to a question that was not even asked.

I clearly stated that I believed in Jesus as Savior but was unwilling to believe He was what I needed as My Lord. We must believe in Him as both Lord and Savior. Believing in Him as both is NOT believing in WORKS. If we are unwilling to accept Hin as Lord, we have not yet come to truly believing in Him.

The perfect example of a person willing to believe in Jesus as only a savior was the Rich Young Ruler. He was willing to follow the Law and to follow Jesus, but he trusted (had faith in) something other than the Christ. There are other scriptures that bear out the same principle. The man who wanted to bury his dad first. Where Jesus said that one must hate his family just for a start. We have no reason to believe any of those people did not accept Jesus as Savior or that they were unwilling to serve Him as Lord. What they were unwilling to do was place ALL their faith and trust in Him by making Him Lord of all of their life.

All I am saying as a kid I was willing to accept Him as my Savior, but like the rich young ruler, I was not ready to trust Him fully as Lord. He required the rich young ruler to stop trusting in his wealth and he required me to stop trusting in the love of another man. Trusting in Him the way He requires is not trusting in works, it is being obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit. That being obedient is the true result of real faith.

I am not advocating "submission." I am advocating Belief in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the one who defines Belief not you or me. It is your and my responsibility to learn what He said about that for ourselves.

At 28 I finally trusted that I needed Jesus as my Lord and Savior. To be able to do that I had to repent of the sin in my life that I had previously trusted in. I did not necessarily stop sinning but that night I stopped believing in my particular pet sin. I simply, by the grace of God, changed my belief from living my life for "me" to trusting in Jesus for a fulfilled like.

[Jas 4:7 KJV] 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
