Why is this Covid vaccine stressing me out?

I'll be first in line when it comes to our area,
I expect to see it in a month or so for non-hospital medical workers.
The hospital where my daughter works in northern Maine will be getting it very soon.
There may be side effects but I'd like to get be free of this isolation.
Let me be the guinea pig.

My suggestion: make a list of the positives and negatives relating to vaccination.
Stay away from major news sources and look for reputable medical sites for information regarding the vaccine.

I think that flu shots are safe. 99.5% of people get well from this flu. I never had the Hong Kong flu and I work with a couple of people who had this flu. The Red Cross found traces of this flu in blood from October 2019. I think that the shots should go to people less well than me. My town is quite nice but it is too close to Indianapolis, always considered a dirty town. Indianapolis people have had a lot of the flu but they have a new county hospital administered by Indiana University Medical School so they are well prepared. I work for a blue chip company so they have spent lavishly to prevent this flu.

 

Personally not much interested in getting this mRNA vaccine.
The Janssen's J&J vaccine being a more typical vaccine design, I would be more willing to get someday, as in after lots of people have already gotten vaccinated
and no bad unwanted outcomes happen.
My thinking, people young and healthy, you don't need the vaccine. old and sickly maybe should get it.

I heard that Gould Hospital in Presque Isle (where our daughter was born) was one of Maine's early recipients of the vaccine.

 

How does this nurses comment make any sense...she gets a shot to dispel fears about long term side effects, which can not possibly be known except over a long period of time...It really shows that people dont have even half a logical brain, even when educated.

About half the country is interested in being vaccinated. the other half not sure and not interested yet.

they do not want the vaccine yet as it was rushed. I suppose they dont want to be part of the medical experiment.
Being nurses, most of them are immune to covid by now.

Drug companies have proven they cannot be trusted.

Even in the short-term and with a "safe" vaccine, the real-life conditions of vaccine delivery result in more side effects than those documented during testing. I have a sibling that almost died and is scarred from a postule-forming virus after receiving a routine Small Pox vaccine. The conclusion was that the vaccine was old or improperly stored.

This vaccine requires shipping conditions that are difficult to maintain and don't appear to be well monitored. I expect compromised vaccine to given to people without them knowing of the increased dangers.

Yes, I believe that this vaccine has a good chance of making things worse. People are desperate for a quick fix. Quick fixes in desperate times seldom work out well in the long-term. Sometimes, they are still necessary to survive the short-term, though. If we don't survive today, the long-term doesn't matter.

There are people that expect me to regret things I did to survive a short-term problem, that unfortunately leave me plagued with issues I have yet to resolve. I don't regret surviving. Period. It was that desperate. I am alive. Alive is pretty awesome.

For ME, the risks appear to outweigh the benefits. I do not believe strongly enough in this vaccine to advocate anyone sacrificing themselves to attempt to create herd immunity. I don't think the vaccine is good enough to warrant that commitment from the general population.

There are people on the front lines that may do better with the vaccine than without it. People need to be wise, and Christians need to pray and make individual choices. This is not something that I believe churches should decide for all members.

 

Cool, that’s just up the road a bit from where she lives and works.
Normally I’d be going up there for Christmas. Not this year

If your younger and of child bearing age, and have a lot of life left to live, then that is a bigger worry to get this vaccine than if your older, and sick and close to the end.

They passed a law preventing any indemnity to the vaccine makers for problems, means they cant be sued, your really on your own, at least the government is not forcing any to get this.

I read Canada may prevent your from shopping or traveling unless they get to inject you.

 

I decided to ditch the mask. Worked at university of Hawaii today. No one strong enough to say anything. Even two cops passed by didn’t say anything.

The scary thing about this virus is that it looks like there is no permanent immunity to it. It may require a vaccine every 3 months, and for a certain percentage of people to be staying on schedule. We do not have the infrastructure in place to make that happen.

We still don't know how well people are recovering, and what happens from repeated illnesses. Anecdotally, I am hearing scary things about the toll on the body for repeated illness.

This is not as simple as some other past illnesses.

If I were younger and likely or wanting to get pregnant I might prefer to go another route than the mRNA, but I'm not, so bring it.

Knowing a little about how the body works with T-cells and memory cells and considering the the typically long lasting immunity from other viral vaccinations I'd consider it a pretty good bet that the vaccination will last and stories otherwise sound like old wives tales to me.

To each his own, but I'm looking forward to getting it and getting my life back. It will probably take some time to let go of all the precautionary habits and thoughts. Almost back to normal! Unfortunately, this event has opened my eyes to the possibility of China inventing a DNA specific virus for germ warfare and little being done to stop them, so there's that...

 

yes there is decades long immunity, dont believe Fauci who talks like you will need a yearly shot, which he says so the vaccine makers make more cash.

I have no intention of taking a vaccine that uses new technology and got a fast track. There are many unknowns about this vaccine. It's also an mRNA vaccine. If you don't know what that is I suggest that you look it up. Ever heard of genetic engineering? Yeah, no thanks. I'll take my chance of 99% survival rate with the virus thanks.

 

Bell’s Palsey, sterility in women, people getting sicker from the shot than if they got covid, & even after two doses they want you to wear a mask, & not travel. Alrighty then.
