By allowing, God is ordaining those governments to fully accomplish the weaving of His perfect will. I cannot emphasize Habakkuk 1 to you enough. Nor can I point out Job 1, Job 2 and Job 42 enough. Romans 1 also expresses how God gives humans over to their wickedness.

God is fully responsible for His choices, but God is not causing humans to act sinfully. The very nature of man's curse causes us to act in rebellion against God. It is the effect of Adam's rebellion. Yet, God used Adam's rebellion to bring about the promised Messiah.

    Rest in God's goodness.

Of course, but these elder brothers are complaining about Trump’s having been a playboy and his pointing out that women display their lust to rich men in hopes of dating a rich man. Women do love money.

I don’t think that Trump made any policy errors as President. And I don’t care what Mohler says to the Australians. Mohler is too slick to slide, as they used to say in the 80s.

Biden is meaner than a junkyard dog and is not very intelligent either.

No. That is Romans 13 (that thick book, says "Holy Bible" on the front....if you open it up towards the back there is a letter that Paul wrote to the Christians in Rome. In that letter Paul tells these people who were under a pagan government, one that allowed abortion, that God had ordained these powers).

But I also think that you have confused things a little by looking for "blame". While the Bible says that God ordained these powers it is not in the context of passing judgment or assigning blame - rather it is stating it as a fact (which you can accept or deny, I suppose). As far as the administration being evil, that's a no brainer. Scripture tells us that as well. These powers which are ordained for a purpose by God are also powers of this world and purposed to oppose God.

Cool huh. It's like they mean it for evil, they do evil, but somehow God makes all things work out for His good, for His purposes. I read somewhere that God even purposed that some wicked men kill His own Son. I'm not kidding. In that book I mentioned, it actually says that God's Son died at the hands of "wicked men" and that this was "evil"....but that this was also by "God's predetermined plan". I guess that is why so many dismiss that story. It does not meet our expectations.

That’s nuts. God came down here once to straighten man out. Sometimes he just allows criminals like Biden to take over but that does not mean that God wanted Biden or Castro or Jinping or Stalin or Peron.

Ha!ha! Are you a Libertarian? Paul just says that God ordains the powers. No one is acting against Biden by saying that he is meaner than a junkyard dog and less intelligent than Greear, are they? Or is that in your big fat book?

No. I'm not a Libertarian either. I'm a Christian. But I do think that the government goes too far making it a crime for me not to wear my seat belt (I wear it because it is the law, and I am used to it now). I do find it odd that I can ride a motorcycle without a helmet but I have to wear a seat belt. Anyway....the answer to your question is no, I'm not a Libertarian.

This is what is in that "big fat book": Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

So yes, the Bible says that no authority exists except that which God has established (or ordained). This does not mean that those authorities or powers are godly, but that God has placed them there for His purposes. These words were written to people under a pagan, ungodly government.

Exactly! If Biden were to become President it would be the work of liars, cheaters and the devil. God would have then allowed it, but He certainly did not determine such evil.

    Ok, let's look at this.

I understand that you reject the idea that there is no authority except that which God has established. While I disagree with you, I can agree that this is a fair view shared by many.

The first century Christians in Rome were under an ungodly, pagan authority. Paul wrote to these Christians, telling them to be obedient (presumably insofar as such obedience was not disobedience to God) to these authorities because there is no authority except that which God has established. Paul says that God established, put into power, this pagan, evil Roman administration (an administration that allowed abortion). You say that God did not establish, put into power, this administration. And again, that is fair. I think many Christians have certain passages that they reject or explain away.

But if Paul incorrectly named God as the One who established these authorities, who do you believe Paul should have named in place of God?

I would really doubt that many of those involved were "Christians", but in name only!

You have to ignore God's word in order to believe your own words.

Oh my goodness. Do you actually think Donald Trump is sinless?
Just read the slander he provides to those who oppose him in his tweets. He demeans brothers and sisters in Christ (Ben Sasse) and thinks nothing of it.
I cannot comprehend how you even ask such a silly question.

Are you a Deist? Has God merely set nature in motion and abandoned it while he is elsewhere?
God allows both the good and the bad, by His providential ordination.

    Job 2:6,9-10
And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand; only spare his life.”

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die.” But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

Clearly Job had a better grasp on God's Sovereignty than you have. You speak of a god who is less than sovereign. That god is not the God of the Bible.

I don’t think God purposefully controls every event on earth. If you forget to tie your shoes, is that God’s particular control of events?

Of course, you are saying that God established government and also selected Stalin.
