Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Launches Ambitious Crackdown on Big Tech

I love seeing this action, it backs up my belief that true Patriots will not tolerate being censored sitting down and that the MSM and social media monopolies have overstepped their bounds and unwittingly awakened a sleeping giant!!

The acceptance of being censored by Leftist or what one might call Leftist Sympathizers who will biasedly censor those with opinions that differ from their own should never by tolerated by Conservative Christians whether it be by Social Media Giants or even by just a few that let power get their heads big and become under the illusion that their "authority" right here on Baptist Board justifies their double-standards and biased censorship against those with different political opinions.

The thing with biased double-standard media censorship is that we have other choices than to submit to such "authorities", we can either leave that platform and/or set out to change it. But, we should never accept free speech abuses from those sheep who would jump on these wagons that these Liberal tactics are the new norm and would then overstep their bounds. That said, ...goodbye, for now.

I hope they can pull it off. Maybe the fines could be even steeper, depending on the stakes. And more states need to follow suit.

I welcome civil debate of different views.

At the same time the large machine producing lies and disinformation that sows dissent for profit (both from international and domestic sources) is harmful to civil society and prevents proper debate of those different ideas and must be moderated.

The first amendment does not prevent censorship in private institutions.

Even if tgat were true in our country (the USA) we can do that. Thoseso called private institutions receive a special government protection due to their claim they are not a publisher and shouldnt be held responsible for content posted by individuals. Once they get into the business of determining what should be perceived as truth and then remiving content they disagree with regardless of its validity then they no longer deserve that government protection.

So you see your claim of the 1st amend is a strawman argument. No one is making it nor disagreeing with it.

Discrimination does. When you present yourself as an open platform then cherry pic your political beefs with bans that's a problem. Civil Rights are not just for black folks. What if the phone company cut your service off because they didn't like your Biden support?

Are you referring to cell phone companies? If so then I’d just go to another cell phone company.

Again, The first amendment does not prevent censorship in private institutions.

Correction. You posted only the biased opinion of the two dissenting justices, both extremist progressive leftists, the author now deceased, rather than the actual case. That was the point of my posting a link to the entirety.

The pdf on my post is from the official Supreme Court website (the primary source) and includes all the opinions of you scroll down. Kennedy’s opinion is the first one listed on page 4. RGB and Sotomayor’s opinion is the last one on page 52.
