That is due to policy changes of Biden.
I do think inflation will go up and Biden will cost you money.
The inflation problem though is serious, as if it does rise significantly , the FED will want to raise rates, meaning the interest on the federal debt payments will go way way way up, meaning the percent of GDP just to pay the interest on the debt could become absurd. The value of cash will drop. So your savings value bad as it is, will just go down in value faster.

Biden's green policies, and infrastructure spending, may make many people poor.

 

The Carter years were hard economic times and energy fuels were SCARCE.
You could only fill up on odd or even days depending on your license plate.
Long lines stretching around blocks to fill up your car
The speed limit was dropped to 55mph to conserve fuel
Inflation was high, mortgage interest rates got close to 20%
The country was losing to IRAN, the embassy was taken, Carter was mocked worldwide as a weak ineffectual leader, and the military forces Carter decimated.

And Carter said that was our future, he saw no way forward, out of the morass he drug the country into.
If that is what Biden is bringing, why would you support him.
Sounds similar to Biden's 10 years grim prognosis for America.
