I would feel MUCH more secure if God totally saved me by Himself, rather then needing my assistance!

Still can be many, in the sense a large number in total!
over 7 billion alive today, if a billion got saved, would that not still be a lot?

again, we are not talking about a "great multitude" of person who will be saved. the contrast is with those who are the lost, where the theologians in the OP, like others, have wrongly said that in the end, the "majority" will be in heaven, which is against Jesus' own words.

you cannot find Jesus saying that.
Reformed persons know a great multitude that no man can number will be saved.
    more caricatures from you.

I don't want to sound rude, but can you read and understand the English language? it is VERY clear in the OP that Jesus says that the MAJORITY will not be saved, but only the MINORITY. I can post in Hebrew, Greek or Latin, if you like?

    SavedByGrace,

Show your verse if you can..I will wait. Tell me you are not trying to twist luke 18????:Cautious:Cautious:Cautious:Cautious

7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

What verses do you think mention any majority or minority?

I read the OP. But the statement I quoted made it sound as though everyone must obviously be saved because, in your view, God desires everyone to be saved. Why dodge the question?

So... people aren't dead in their trespasses and sins...
    Humans must... before God can...

The ultimate question is this.... Who is responsible for our salvation? Us or God?

According to Revelation 7:9, there is a 'great multitude' who will be saved, so great that no man can number them. You ask how many that is? I can't tell you; no man can number them :Tongue.
What I can tell you is what they are saying: 'Salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb.'

Christ did not have the pre-eminence in looks. He had no beauty that we should desire Him. He had no pre-eminence in His earthly estate: born into poverty, in the least of the cities in Judea. The foxes had holes, but he had no where to lay His head.

To say that having the pre-eminence in all things means being greater in everything as men count greatness is a grave error. The only way the number of the Redeemed could be greater than the number of the damned is if the number of the faithful was the majority population for most of history. That's just not going to happen. Christ's coming will be as it was in the days of Noah, where a vast multitude was swept off the face of the earth and only eight souls were saved.

Spurgeon's error here is fueled somewhat by his Premillennialism, where He thinks Christ will reign on this earth with His glorified body while the human population is still multiplying. And the thought is that most of them will be redeemed.

Kind of a ridiculous notion if you ask me.
