Galatians 3:7 Therefore, understand that it is those whose faith God credited as righteousness who are sons of Abraham.

    Galatians 3:8
The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles based on crediting their faith as righteousness, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “ALL THE NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU.”

So then those whose faith has been credited as righteousness are blessed with Abraham, the believer.

    Galatians 3:22
But the scripture imprisoned everything and everyone under sin so that the promise could be given - based on the faithfulness of Jesus Christ - to those who believe.

Therefore the Law has become our guardian to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified based on God crediting our faith as righteousness.

For we, based on God crediting our faith as righteousness, are waiting for the hope of righteousness in accordance with the pledge of our indwelt Spirit.

Folks, this is all they have, hurl false charges at others. Mean while, our salvation benefits arise from God crediting OUR faith as righteousness.

So why is it false if I give the charge but not false when you give it? Is that all you have?

Note the petty attack on me, rather than addressing the topic.

    By the numbers:
    1) I said total spiritual inability was "false" because three of the four soils (Matthew 13) understood and received the gospel.
    2) Post 18 I am charged with ignoring biblical truth and the inability to grasp [scriptural truth].
    3) In post 19 I cite Matthew 13 and Romans 11 evidence that the "T" is false doctrine.
    4) In post 20 I point out salvation not faith is the gift, and that we are saved by grace through or by means of faith.
    5) In post 27 I am charged with not making scripturally based rebuttals, after presenting scripturally based rebuttals of every false claim.

The gift of salvation is obtained by God crediting our faith and devotion toward Christ as righteousness. Thus the gifts of salvation (being made righteous, being justified, being forgiven, being indwelt, and our future bodily redemption and eternal life with Christ) arise from our credited faith in Christ. Ek Pisteos appears to be used in at least two ways:

    1) out from Old Covenant Faith and into New Covenant Faith, and

    2) the benefits of salvation arising from our faith in Christ being credited as righteousness by God. Everyone believing into Christ shall not perish but have eternal life, but God alone determines those believing by crediting their faith as righteousness.

A third usage (the righteous man will live by faith - ek pisteos) is where the idea is behaving in accordance with faithfulness toward God and His Christ.

Van, how is that not a works based salvation? If we have to DO something in order to be saved rather than being saved, that is a works based salvation.

Do you never tire regurgitating the same false charges, i.e. universalism, Pelagianism, works salvation, etc. Why not surprise us by actually addressing the truth. Romans 9:16 says salvation does not depend on the person who wills to be saved or does stuff to be saved, therefore doing the work God requires - believing in the One God sent - is not a works based salvation. I have presented this rebuttal many many times, but will you continue to claim our faith is works? Yes, because the truth of scripture does not support Calvinism. Romans 4:16

Note the petty attack on me and no on topic response. God crediting our faith as righteousness is not a works salvation. A salvation based on faith is not a salvation based on works, Romans 4:16.

Van I asked you a simple question. How is faith of our own accord and not because it is God-authored not a works based salvation? Please explain.

Scripture answers your question, Romans 4:16. Salvation must be through or by means of faith to be of grace.

I don't dispute that, but that did not answer the question. I said how is faith that is completely of our own accord and not given by God, not a works based salvation as it would be something that we have to DO and do independently of God.
