Reynolds' question: "How does symbolism prevent those without it from Buying or selling?"

Let's look at the immediately context of that reference:

    Revelation 13:16-18
16 And he causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 and he decrees that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.

In the Roman Empire at the time of the writing and first reading of the Revelation, Caesar had his mark (his seal) on commerce. His mark had to be affixed to commercial documents giving permission to trade and his image was on the coins, making it extremely difficult to "buy or to sell" without encountering the mark.

But the "mark of the beast" is not the focus of this passage, it points to the person at the top of the government, whose "number" is 666 (or 616 in variant readings) - the name can be calculated as "Nero Caesar" from BOTH 666 and 616.

Once you step away from the microchip speculation, it is quite easy to sort out when you understand the symbolism and Greco-Roman culture.

They never will happen physically as you expect. They began happening when Jesus first arrived but only a few can see them. It is a kingdom of faith, not a kingdom of sight you and the Pharisees (present in Israel today) look for.

All will need to sacrifice = commit the unforgivable sin.

Edom is not yet destroyed. It still existed after Jesus was here. Most of the Herods were Edomites. (Idumeans) Their descendants are somewhere; GOD knows where. They havent inhabited Mt. Seir, southeast of Israel, for millenia.

Currently eternal conscious torment is the most popular view among Baptists, but in the 19th century, conditional mortality was widely popular. But it doesn't matter what is popular, it matters what the Bible teaches.

Sure. Destruction in the Lake of Fire has an eternal nature to it. It is final.

You may say, "Putting someone to death is not punishment!" If so, then why do we have the phrase, "capital punishment."

I would think you would also be quite upset by the phrase, "death penalty," since being executed is a little more severe than a fine or a 'time out' in the corner

    Horse Feathers!

Scripture plainly says Jesus will reign over the earth from Jerusalem, with His saints, for 1K years til Satan is freed from his banishment.

The Jews will begin sacrificing in their new temple, but the beast will make them stop, as Daniel prophesied, recognizing no god but himself.

I posted one of the Scriptures for you that proves the eternity of being alive in the LOF. I choose to believe Scripture over someone's wishful thinking.

Rev. 20:10The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Not according to Ezekiel's Temple vision. You don't understand Daniel.

It is a symbol of Satan's binding. It says nothing more than that.

    Zeke saw the heavenly temple.
And I apparently understand Daniel a lot better than you do, according to the goofy philosophy you allude to here.

Conscience. As in the case of the Oregon baker about to lose his livelihood.
