Oh trust me, Trump is not my first choice, just like he was not my first choice in '16.

Why? Why can people who supported Trump's policies not just be seen as people who love America and what America stands for? Why can they not be seen as people who love freedom and hate tyranny? Why can they not be seen as people who love religious freedoms and protections? Why must you deride them?

I am NOT really into politics. I am more guided by what a President or Prime Minister "faith" is, and their morality, than what they are as "politicians". Trump was supposed to be anti abortion, and yet I learned last week from a thread on here, that he was FOR women taking the abortion pill, as long as they did not at home, but in a clinic. How can this be "against" abortion? It is like saying that I am against homosexual "marriage", but I have no problems with them "living together". Either you are for, or against! Trump needed the Evangelical vote, and played them.

further Trump lifted up Christ from the whitehouse and publically more than any other President in history.

As far as his illicit past, Itvwas the reason I did not vote for him the first time. He proved himself however. I sure would hate for anyone to hold my past against me

Yes, that is a sweeping statement. It is also true.

A Christian cannot support the Democrat platform without compromising his or her faith. I stand by that.

But Christians justify what ever positions they want to hold.

The question is whether or not we will be judged for how we use our voice. I believe we will.

    The GOP is no better.

I think some things are spiritual gifts, but others are a matter of simply trusting Scripture. This is a gift too, I suppose, but one every believer has been given.

Yes, it does. Christians are not 0erfect. Christians who vote Democrat know the platform they support is anti-Christ. The DNC does not hide that fact (just read the DNC website).

But the GOP presents itself as godly (absent Christ, of course) and Christians are enticed to trade the gospel of Christ for a GOP social- political platform.

So God has given us a country that, unlike the vast majority in history, allows it's citizens to have a major say in the governing of the country, and it's wrong (in your view??????) to pick the candidate that most nearly approaches the ideals of God Himself, simply because they do not project God - although I do think He is projected in practice! You must remember, we ARE NOT a theocracy, selecting a national preacher, but a republic selecting a leader for ALL Americans.

Thus I totally fail to see how you can come to the conclusion that Christians who favor Trump - who does acknowledge God - is to "trade the gospel of Christ for a GOP social- political platform" when the alternative is to allow the godless party to wreak havoc.

I remember Jimmy Carter, who was touted as being a born-again Christian.
I honestly do not remember whether I voted for him because of this, OR did not because he was a D., but he turned out to be a terrible POTUS in spite of his "godliness", & I would not vote for him for street cleaner now!

Looks like our experiences are too far apart to reconcile. Mere imperfection doesn't come close to explaining what I've encountered. And Christians supporting it certainly don't acknowledge any anti-Christ influence involving the Democrat party. In fact, they think it quite Christian. In my estimation, such lack spiritual discernment to a serious degree.

I agree with you in regards to Christians supporting the DNC. They do think it Christian, but most often in my experience these are "Christians" dedicated to a "social gospel" and more interested in "social justice" than the gospel.

But there are other Christians who truly (in my experience) believe the GOP is a godly political party.

Our nation, like any other nation, is of this world. It is not the theocracy you seem to make it out to be.

Accepting the GOP in place of the gospel is not an acceptable solution. Worldly powers are by definition worldly. There is nothing godly about the GOP, the GOP does not acknowledge God, does not give God the glory for its accomplishments, and has never incorporated the gospel of Christ in its platform. It is concerned with political power, not Chrust.
