Jon, I gotta call a spade a spade- you say it's false propaganda, ok. Now show what was really said. Audio & text. Otherwise what reason do we have to believe you?

I also have to call a spade a spade.

You said "we have to believe you".

I am a Chriatian. We do not prescribe other people's beliefs. Nobody HAS to believe me.

The point is not what was said but rather lifting a quote out of context as a stand alone message.

The DNC did this to Trump all last year. But the context is important (without context words fail to communicate).

The OP lifted Obama's words and presented them as a stand alone statement. But his words depend upon the context in which they were delivered.

The OP is a dishonest post at worst, an intellectually dishonest post at best.

Oh boy. Jon, spades are gonna love us! So...Prove it. Please provide links or other forms of verification. Some of us, me in particular, have not paid much attention to the stuff you're talking about. So if you say the OP is dishonest, show proof.

And yes, I realize that you are a moderator.

This has already been covered at least twice in this thread. See posts #3 and #8.

Yeup, it looks like Jon's position has been documented. This why I close threads. Facts cited early can be lost in the flow of posts.

RT has it correct. I missed those posts. Jon, I'm sorry.

What are you talking about? I do not see any reference to race in this entire thread. I could have missed it somewhere, but if so, go ask them & not me.

In post #23, you stated “spades are gonna love us…”

Where I grew up, some would refer to Americans of African descent as “spades”.

Thus my question to you (not an accusation), if that is your intent.

    peace to you

While I was aware of the ethnic use of "spade", I was more familiar with the use of the phrase calling a spade a spade or as I misquote it calling a spade a shovel.

I’ve heard of calling a “spade a spade”, or as you said, “a spade a shovel”.

The quote I asked about was that “the spades are gonna love us”. I never heard anyone say “the shovels” are gonna love us. “Spade” in this quote seems to be referring to people, thus my question.

The OP is about a “quote” from former Pres Obama (the first American of African descent elected Pres). The quote of the OP appears to have been selectively and inappropriately edited. You and others have pointed that out.

A poster says “the spades are gonna love us” and then challenges you to prove the OP quote was not true.

And thus my question, is he referring to Americans of African descent as “spades”?

    peace to you
