Trump wants to sue Facebook for taking away his right to free speech

Some will say, that FB is a private company and can makes its own rule.

But Trump said something about a policy 330 (not sure of the exact name) that basically states
that FB should not be considered a private company.

Any info out there would be helpful.

Trump’s legal case, which demands the restoration of his social-media accounts and punitive damages, has very little chance of prevailing in court. The defendants are private companies not bound by the First Amendment. Trump’s legal argument hinges on the claim that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, a law passed by Congress in 1996, effectively makes the tech companies government actors. One could try to explain this argument in more detail, but it wouldn’t make any more sense.

Everyone knows, and the Dems have even given lip service to the fact, that Big Tech is abusing their immunities under this Section 230.

But Congress evidently failed to place any safeguards against such abuse when they enacted it. This could be due to incompetence or by design. But Big Tech made it big primarily because of those immunities.

What this could to whether President Trump wins or not is expose the collusion between Facebook and the dems on all the stifling of free speech during discovery. There may be more than one end game here.

I doubt Trump could win this one in terms of past abuses. BUT the outcome could have an effect on social media in the future.

Good question. This should have been a primary concern ever since the Dems got angry with Big Tech over that first election. His team should have had something in the works at least since then.

Lets say he did - do you think many conservatives would leave "facebook" for "Trumpbook"?

It isn’t difficult to imagine a transition period of overlap rather than a mass migration. The man has been quite popular. Just the threat of a real alternative could have the necessary effect—anything to TrumpIt! :Wink

While we're at it, has Fox News abruptly eliminated their comments section? Or is it just my account that can't read them anymore?

Trump has neither the money nor expertise to do something like that. In truth, he doesn't have nearly the money he claims, and he is terrible about hiring competent people since he always has to feel like the smartest person in the room.
