I notice no Pentecostal pastors do either

I would think it should be a rampant practice by those who believe this words are applicable in our day and age

they sure talk big about it

Just to prove it to you

take a mason jar fill it up 1/2 way with water, hand it to one then tell him it is poisonous and to drink it to prove scripture true

I’m quite sure that he will deny

There is a ground of tempting God, which I will not enter.

I worked with a lady by the name of Nancy. Back in the 1990's her heart was only like 10% and they were expecting her to die. I myself had given up hope for her.

And then... Months later... Nancy is back! After she had been back many months I asked her what happened. She said that there on her death bed a prayer team assembled, held hands, and prayed a healing prayer over her in the name of Jesus. Though that has been decades ago she is still alive today. I asked her, Nancy, was the prayer team Pentecostal? She said, no, Baptist!

Brother, a person cannot live for one second with a heart functioning at 10%.

I knew a man with congestive heart failure. His heart functioned at about 80%. He couldn’t move without being out of breath.

Nancy should release all her medical records documenting this miracle. It would be a great testimonial.

    peace to you

There were only two names that came out of that story, Nancy and Jesus. I tried to find more but couldn’t. Whoever was on that prayer team did nothing to bring attention to theirselves.

My first bible was an Open Bible KJV presented to me by the First Freewill Baptist Church after spending a year with them teaching Sunday School while I was going to college. I read that bible until the cover fell off and I had to buy another bible. Which was another KJV Open Bible! Oh to go back in time! I would love to spend a Sunday evening service with them while they had the Footwashing-Communion service!

You said you worked with Nancy. That tends to suggest you had more than a second hand knowledge of the “story”.

A heart functioning at 10% would result in death immediately; no time to call for prayer.

I’ve heard these types of stories for decades. Miraculous healings. Never once confirmed with medical records which clearly would give great praise to God and shut the mouths of the critics.

    peace to you

Read your Bible, rocky. I am honestly not concerned about what churches you attended, but I am concerned whether you are reading your Bible. Open it up, rocky. Let God speak to you through the revealed pages of scripture. In the Bible, you will read truth. While every commentator is a corrupted interpreter and liar, God's word is always true. Go there for your council and revelation.

First scripture that comes to mind here... Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. - 2 Timothy 3:5

Nancy was off work when I heard the story that, "her heart was like 10%" And I thought that was the end of her. I was very surprised to have heard from her again. And equally surprised that the leadership of her Baptist church called the Words of Faith that brought her back around.

Did you read all of 2 Timothy or are you just quoting verses you can wield as a weapon against others? Read it to change your own heart.

And the second scripture that comes to mind... Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. - Romans 14:1

Have you read all of Romans, the entire letter, to see what this one verse is speaking to? Rocky, read your Bible. You are trying to use it as a weapon to prop up your, outside of scripture, philosophers that someone has taught you. Read your Bible, rocky.

I read the following on a young man’s shirt at church this morning… Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. - John 14:12-13 And… Had to give him an appreciative word over it. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. - 1 John 5:4

My views on the Full Salvation…

    1. The Entrance Gate- Justification - Faith to enter in.
    2. The Altar - Salvation- if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. - Roman's 10:9 - Christ is our sacrifice!
    3. The Laver - The clean effects of sanctification.
    4. Table of Showbread – Daily into the word of God
    5. Light at the Lightstand - Faith, hope, charity, joy, grace, love, warmth, etc. With sanctification came a sweet spirit!
    6. The Golden Incense Alter - Prayer and Praise meetings.
    7. The Holy of Holies - The Shekinah Glory and Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

A full salvation is something, I believe, to be worked out...

The Ordinances of the Azusa Street Mission were Basically Seven….

Justification by faith – We are saved, or justified, by simple faith in Christ.
Sanctification by faith - As a second definite work of grace upon the heart and evidenced by the sweet spirit of Christ in the experience!
Power - The baptism in the Holy Ghost is a gift of power upon the sanctified life, anointing it in service and in work, with the speaking in tongues as one of the ‘signs following’ in the baptized believer along with casting out devils, healing the sick and the fruits of the Spirit accompanying the signs.
Marriage – As a holy union between a man and a woman.
Water Baptism – On those who have reached the age of accountability
Communion - “We believe in the ordinance of the Lord’s supper as instituted by Jesus and followed by the apostles, and teach that it should be frequently observed in holy reverence.”
Foot Washing - “We believe in feet washing as an ordinance, as it was established by our Master before the Lord’s supper, according to John 13:4-18, and believe it was practiced by the Apostles and disciples through the First Century” (1 Tim. 5:10).

The Methods to the Fullness of the Spirit of God were Basically Seven....

    1. Justification - Faith to enter in
    2. Salvation - Christ is our sacrifice
    3. Sanctification - "Sanctification makes us clean on the inside." - William Seymour
    4. Bible Reading - At the Table of Shewbread
    5. Spiritual Fruit - At the Lampstand
    6. Prayer and Praise meetings - At the Altar of Golden Incense
    7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit - In the Holy of Holies

And in William Seymours own handwriting....
As far as tongues William Seymour says that if people weren’t expressing the I Corinthians 13 kind of love, then, “I care not how many tongues you may have, you have not the baptism with the Holy Spirit.” William Seymour also warned that, “Whenever the doctrine of the baptism in the Holy Ghost will only be known as the evidence of speaking in tongues, that work will be an open door for witches and spiritualist and free loveism. That work will suffer because all kinds of spirits can come in.”

That's the first one that comes to mind when I see that silly pentecostal stuff.
