I think there are some lower level Democrat's that are pro life and pro second amendment. They won't get far in the Democrat's party. Perhaps they fool themselves, but certainly they exist. The Blue Dog democrat's come to mind. Certainly Salty is correct on some lower level Democrat's.

The platform is evil. You can't be a righteous soldier fighting for an evil agenda.

IMHO - it depends on where you live. If you are in a high Democrat area - the only way to get elected is to be on the Dem ticket line. I have said it over and over - many people ONLY party line! (and I have at least on actual example of this) Conan -is absolutely correct about the Blue Dogs and at local levers - platforms are much different than national.
I agree it is sad when people do not even know the platform of their candidate.

I am on the county committee of my party - one advantage is that I get to actually be part of the interview process.
Too bad more people are not fully aware of platforms and get more involved.

Watch for a whole bunch of abortion clinics to pop up on the borders of states that still allow abortions. I just saw an evening news report that the only clinic in North Dakota is moving to the other side of the river from Fargo to Moorhead Minnesota. Apparently a go fund me has already raised $800,000 for the move.

I am not saying "you" as in Salty. It is the generic "you". I never thought you were a Democrat.
My response to that link is that the stooges can't support the Democrat machine and not be guilty for it's rabid pro murder position.

That would be like me saying "I was a Nazi in WW2, but I loved and supported Jews " Insanity on its face.

    This makes absolutely no seance

Why did you bring up the Three Stooges - When you give answers like that - I will completely ignore such statements

    The Nazi Who Saved Jews

You also said (on post #8) "The party is pro abortion. The platform is rabidly pro abortion. You sign on that that party and it's platform, you are a liar if you say you are anti abortion."

I dont know about other States or Commonwealths - but ub NY State, when you register with a party - there is no indication that you are agreeing with 100% of the Party Platform.
In Fact, I am not in 100% of my registered Party! Though I do agree with the vast majority -

I do like a good discussion - but your extremist biased opinions is totally uncalled for.
    I prefer facts.

I have told you plenty, I don't care if you talk to me or not. You just seem to be unable to avoid doing so. I did not mention "Three Stooges."
If you don't know the difference between the uses of you, then I can't help you. You see me as extremist. I see you as compromised.

You give an example of non Nazis infiltrating the Nazis. That is not the case with the Dems you mention.

Moderate Democrats are a fiction. When push comes to shove, they vote party line. Obama care ring a bell. They tell the folks back home what they want to hear, but then go to Washington and play havoc with the Constitution. Do you think judges should read into the law what they see as needed to today? That is leftist hogwash that is calculated to destroy our Constitutional protections. The protection of the free exercise of religion does not mean you can put a manger scene on a public square. Or pray in a publicly funded school. How about criminalizing biblical doctrine as hate speech?

The Republican party is the lesser of two evils.

Problem is Democrats have been choosing murder for five decades.

It isn't that they lie about what they are selling as much as it is what they are selling. Far too many are proud to support abortion and will gladly say so, defending the murder.

They are enablers. All Democrats are enablers of evil and liars when they say they are not.

No. They are actively doing evil. When we give our voices to an organization we support that organization. When we support evil we are doing evil.

Put another way, the DNC would not exist with the support of Democrats.

To use another example, supporting abortion is evil even if you are not the person actively committing the crime.

I agree. I was talking about only the Democrats who call themselves pro life. They are at best case scenario enablers of evil. Salty seems to think you can be a Democrat and truly be pro life. I say you can't. I am all extreme because I won't bend on that.

agree, there's no pro-life D politicians left - the party has managed to go even further left on this issue, they think overturning RvW is "extreme".

Bob Casey was a real pro-life Democrat, his son is not.

Well, I suppose you can, but you'd have to prioritize so many things as more important than the abortion issue. You'd still be supporting abortion, but your support may not reflect your actual values.

It's the same with the GOP. Some Republicans may not agree with everything the GOP does, but in the end they support it all by their vote.

The covid vaccines are a good example. The GOP stand is that they are effective, and while they should not be mandated people should be encouraged to take them. Many Republicans are anti-covid-vaxers. But their voice in the 2020 election supported vaccinations (even though they personally did not).

The GOP position on vax is no mandates and individual freedom of choice.

So what you are saying is that: The GOP position on vax is no mandates and individual freedom of choice.

We have a couple Democrats on our school board that are fairly socially conservative, and at least 1 is Pro-Life.

The Board of Education current makeup has 1 Unaffiliated, 2 Democrat, 1 Republican, 1 Seat is vacant. This county voted 75% Trump to 25% Biden in 2020.

The entire board, Dems and Unaffiliated included, is 100% Anti-Mandatory mask for children in the public school.

The county is bright red for national elections and state elections, but is purple on local elections. The wife and I often vote for Dem Commissioners in our county, because I don't want the Repubs sticking a bunch of dollar generals up in our hollers and killing our local mom and pop businesses and our local farms (mine included). The Repubs seem willing to sacrifice our Appalachian culture for money in the form of Walmart or Dollar General, or Big Lots and tourists.

Thanks to the Repubs our farmland prices in this county have risen ~200% in 4 years. The Repubs entice carpetbaggers from big cities in the North and Charlotte and Raleigh (which might as well be the North) to buy second homes here and gawk at us "simple people" wearing overalls. These folk, that contribute nothing to the community, out-compete the residents for farmland with their city cash. And the first thing these people do after they buy up prime farmland, that has 300 year old family cemeteries on it, is put up "No Trespassing" signs, put up a bunch of floodlights that block out our starlight then they start voting like Liberal kooks. I vote for a mix of Dems/Reps on the local level almost every election because I know most of them personally, or know them through a friend and they're not all kooks.

And I don't think anyone on this board would consider me to be a Liberal. I'm so far to the "Right" on several Social issues that I can't even see anyone else...

It is. But in the 2029 election their position was that the Trump Administration has provided three safe and effective vaccines and everyone should be vaccinated. Trump emphasized this at his Alabama rally. Many got mad, but they still supported Trump. The GOP stance post election was that they had provided safe and effective vaccines but the Biden Administration dropped the ball in terms of logistics.

People ignore what they want to ignore.

And, in the 2030 election, that vaccines were safe and effective, so people should get vaccinated.
