Not talking about Christ or the miracles that occurred in Jerusalem at the crucifixion (where dead people walked around for a while)

How many? On another thread Chris said he believed in just one. Others in two. I believe in three

At the rapture - of bride-era dead saints
At the end of the Tribulation - of tribulation-era dead saints
At the end of the Millennium/final rebellion - of millennial saints and all the unsaved dead[/list]So obviously major differences here.

    What d'ya think??

    Daniel 12:2 (ESV)
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

    Daniel 12:13 (ESV)
But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days."

    John 5:25 (ESV)
"Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

    John 5:28-29 (ESV)
Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
[29] and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

    John 6:39-40 (ESV)
And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the[/b] last day. [/b] [40] For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day."

    John 6:44 (ESV)
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

    John 6:54 (ESV)
Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

    John 11:23-24 (ESV)
Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." [24] Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day."

Seems clear Bob - one resurrection.

    What's the problem? ;)

I don't see anything clear here. What exactly in these verses points to one resurrection?

It's too bad that you spoof text (as Gerstner would call it) [IMG]. Notice a verse you conveniently omitted:

quote:
Rev 20:4-6 Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.

    Notice several things:

    1. A number of people come to life and reign.
    2. Then the rest of the dead (very clearly those who did not previously come to life) are resurrected. This is called the first resurrection.
    3. The very term "First resurrection" implies that there is another. If there are not at least two resurrections, then "first" means nothing.

Bad things happen when you don't get your theology from the whole of Scripture. You end up with some loose ends that just don't fit anywhere.

I agree 100% with Dr. Bob and 99.999% with Pastor Larry (only because you didn't specifically mention three resurrections). Good job!
