Hello standingfirm.

I was not angry. I have no wrath. I said it with no malice. It does not take the Name of the Lord in vain and it is not filthy. I apologise for offending your sensitivities.

Then what is the need to sensor yourself with ****? Why not post what you would have said instead of **** (I'm guessing it probably would have been filthy, as **** is what is typed in the place of filthy words).

The phrase has been removed and will be referred to no more.

In addition, the thread is getting out of hand. Settle down, take a deep breath and chill before posting. Personal attacks are not allowed and will cause the thread to be shut down pronto.

But what motivates some to accept it while others remain non-receptive?

Are those who receive better? Smarter? Wiser?

Why do those who believe do so?

This is the inescapable problem of all of your arguments... you ultimately either have to abandon your system or acknowledge that it bases salvation on some amount of individual merit.
    </font>
The "Free Gift" came upon "ALL MEN",...IF...they'll accept it.

Is your reading comprehesion really "that bad"??

    me4Him,

    I remember the LP's ...

    45's, 33 1/3's, and 78's.

    I even had a grammaphone.

Many today would say, 'Grammaphone? What's that?'

    Hello Me4Him.

LK 13:34 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! 35 Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, `Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.' "

I asked you for an interpretation of 'O Jerusalem, Jerusalem'.

    john.

a big AMEN! to that timtoolman </font>
Gee, they must have been regenerated before they responded. </font>
lol, well gee that must be why they hid, and then made excuses for why they disobeyed blaming her and then the snake. Very repentive. Can calvies get even one thing right?! Answer, no it has to be twisted in all ways to fit the teachings of John Calvin.
It seems to be more a theology of Forrest Gump the more I talk too the ones on here!

I don't know if you're old enough to remember the old "LP records", but if they had a "scratch" in the grooves, the needle would keep jumping back into the previously played groove make the same groove play "over and over and over and over", it never would "move on" to the next groove to finish playing the record.

You and Scott kinda remind me of those "old records", you're "hung up" in a groove and keep repeating the same thing, over and over and over, without taking it to the next groove/level.

BTW, one method of making them "move on" was to "Slap" the side of the machine with your hand. [/QB]
Hello Me4Him & Timtoolman.

You are advocating violence? That didn't work when the Jesuits used to do it to us, I don't see it working for you either.

I appreciate the concern, and I figure you are on my side. But the only reason I use the word "able" is because Jesus and Paul did. I really don't care if anti-Calvinists get hung up on the words of Scripture. I don't want to water down the word of God just to appease a humanistic point of view.

I ask for a verse and you give me human reasoning!!! I want a verse or I don't believe it. I have given you a multitude of verses for what I believe and you keep humanistic reasoning at mee. Then you start throwing verses at me that give commands and pleas, but no verses that indicate ability to obey or ability to respond. I repeat: A command or a plea does not necessitate the ability to obey or respond appropriately. As Padme Amidala said in Star Wars Episode 1, "You assume too much."

I've actually got an old grammaphone. It's pretty cool.
