    Friends,

I need to explain why I have left several direct questions unanswered in recent threads. It is not because I am intentionally ignoring anyone, nor is it because I am trying to "dodge a bullet."

Yesterday, 11/5/02, I allowed my self to fall into the very trap that I so very much disdain. I sunk to the depths of posting remarks that were personally offensive to another. Although I grew tired of seeing cynicism and mockery used instead of intelligent answers, I found myself responding in the same deplorable way.

I immediately requested to be removed as Moderator of this forum, and my request was granted in kind fashion. I made ammends to the parties I had offended and asked for forgiveness. This, too, was met with kindness and understanding for which I am grateful.

I feel it in my best interest to refrain from posting in this forum until I can be assured that I can contribute to the discussions without sinking to depths that are unbecoming a Christian.

I do hope you all understand.

    Sincerely,

    Pastor Bob

Pastor Bob, I just want to say that my respect for you stands undiminished. We all make mistakes, but it's how we handle those mistakes that really speaks to our character. I hope you will continue participating in this board, and I also hope you will return to your status as moderator because you have done a consistently excellent job in that role. I hope that you don't feel the need to continue to beat yourself up about this mistake, but instead put this behind you and press forward (Phi 3:12-14).

    God bless you and yours...

    Eric

No problem, Pastor Bob. I think you did a great job, and were easily the best KJV-O moderator I have ever encountered. [IMG] God bless you.

I'm sad to see such a gifted debater as yourself outside the conversation. [IMG] Come back soon! These issues are important, and it's equally important to hear all sides.

Howdy folks! May I speak freely on this? Well, since I can't hear no one answer, here goes...

Pastor Bob, you are too tender-hearted! We really needed ya here, dear one, to take up the slack from our beloved DocCas...

Because of some head-strong bullies, yes, you read right, on the BB, nice folks get run off. Well, the granny is nice and it's going to take more than what's been dished my way to make me leave.

I have always used the KJBible and I make no apologies for it. I go so far as not even recognizing any other as being God's Word!

I will have to give an account one day to the Lord, just as they will...and I'm not the least bit worried.

When I write my thoughts, I am not blasting anyone, but you'll see how I'll get thumped on the head for the above.

Well, Pastor Bob, you gotta do what ya gotta do...it really makes me sad to think we have no leader; someone to look up to and respect on this issue...but I'm sure the Lord will send another.

Why on earth would anyone want to thump
    Granny Gumbo???

    But Pastor Bob,
I hope you are not at all considering leaving!
I do not read even a fifth of the threads here--
not even close--but I have never seen any
post in which you spoke badly. I have enjoyed
your posts. You very well know that we have our
differences, but I appreciate and respect you.

Granny, I don't think anyone here wants you to leave, or is blasting or thumping you. [IMG]

    Pastor Bob,

As you certainly know, I have enjoyed working with you and anytime you would like to come back and moderate this forum with me, I would certainly be very happy to have you back. But, you gotta do what you gotta do and I only wish the best for you.

Pastor Bob, I thought you were a very fair moderator, even though I disagreed with your views.

just wondering out loud ... is being KJBO a prerequisite for being a Moderator on Baptistboard?

how does one become a Mod?

I am not KJO and I am a moderator.....How? I was invited......didn't choose it, couldn't refuse it, but must give account if I abuse it....

I concur, that Pastor Bob is a good lad. He has a good heart and a good knowledge, and uses both in a good spirit.

    He shall return.

    Cheers,

    Jim

PS. I would like to add this. I am privy to how moderators talk with each other about situations, and I am pleased to say, that kindness and gentleness and always putting the Lord first is a characteristic of all the moderators... I am still on trial,,,,,,so, it is best not to test me out yet,,maybe next year..... [IMG]

I only know the answer to your first question, which is "no". "Preach the Word" isn't KJVO, for instance.

Regarding your second question, I can only wonder aloud why anyone would even WANT to be a moderator here, given how much abuse they take.

And just a side note - as an Administrator on the BB I have some jurisdiction on any forum, including this hotbed of bitter speaking, slander, and personal attack.

No one will be attacked without either (1)severe repercussion or (2) me joining in and providing the rope for the lynching.

After having NOT been on the Forum for over a year, I am already enjoying stepping gingerly back into the fray . . .
