Nope, I didn't have any trouble at all. I belong to a wonderful church that bases everything on the Bible. It's numbers have grown from 12 to 4,000 in the last 16 years. People are so thirsty for the Lord, and our church is that cool drink of water.

Even though the church has grown, (and continues to grow) it still has that friendly small church feel. I thank God for a Pastor that sticks to the Word, and preaches it faithfully.

I am so glad you said something. I was going to if you didn't. People are so quick to throw out the term "legalism" if you have standards. It is time that the people of God got over this "don't judge me" sickness and got into the Word of God and see what it says about judging. Read the following tract if you want a good understanding of what the Bible says about it.

Hey WisdomSeeker -- Lancaster CA, eh? I lived there for four years: two out on 60th East between two alfalfa fields and 2 closer in on 20th East. Worked at Mira Loma Hospital.... It was country then. I could ride my mare into town and tie her up and do the grocery shopping.

Sand storms. If you get rain pretty soon after you get grass growing in your doormat...

Incredible moonlit summer nights and horizon to horizon sunsets.

The L1011 was being built there then and sometimes the entire valley floor would rumble from the engines being tested underground.

Oh yeah, this is about churches....

I think the reason some churches, such as one mentioned above, grow so fast is precisely BECAUSE there are so few Bible churches now. I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills east of Sacramento and you know what we have up here: every blooming hippie who survived this long and came up here to start a church of some kind. I can go half a mile and pass three churches. A full mile adds about five more. You can be healed every Sunday. You can order the Holy Spirit to have a revival in your very own church. You can speak in tongues. You can get assured that you will be healthy and wealthy if God is blessing you. You can be successful if you claim all of God's promises. You can be a Mormon, a Jehovah's Witness or a Seventh Day Adventist. Or you can go super liberal with the Methodists and our own brand of Episcopalian. One minister knows Jesus shoots fire out of his eyes because it says so in Revelation. You can get the social gospel, the Catholic gospel, the liberal gospel, the political gospel, and about forty other varieties with personal touches.

We go thirty miles to church.
