BB members in the Chicago area?

    Do we have any? I'll be in the Chicago area (actually 50 miles NW) for a week later this month and would love to visit a solid Baptist church.

    I couldn't say for sure, since I'm not looking at a map, but it sounded like you might be going to be near the WI/Ill border if you are N and W.

    Hey, we're pretty close to the border, we're in the suburbs of Milwaukee and have a wonderful church. I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed! My husband and I would be happy to have you over for lunch afterwards.

    Elizabeth is a radio DJ on a Christian station out of Rockford (90 miles nw of Chicago). I did my intern work in 69 in the Medinah/Roselle area, about 20 miles west of the loop on US 20

    When will you be there? I will be in Watertown, Wisconsin, when my daughter there (teacher at Maranatha BBC) has her first born.

    If timing coincides, I'd count in a privilege to let you buy me dinner! :rolleyes:

    Im in Rockford, IL, as Dr. Bob said its about 90 miles due west of Chicago. We would be more than happy to have you visit us at Victory Baptist.

    Hey Bill, you wouldn't happen to have a couple there named Lou and Sharon Hermann would you? I know they are in Rockford now going to a church out there. They were with us for a while and their son is our discipleship pastor. Let me know.

    Sorry Nicole, I have not not had the pleasure of meeting them. I am assuming you don't know what church they are attending here. There are alot of chruchs in Rockford, and alot of them are Baptist. Within 10 blocks of my house there are at least 5 different chruchs, it seems like there is a church on every other corner in town. You friends could be attending almost anywhere.

    There are several churches in the Chicago area that I know about, but I don't think there are any BB people there.. . . .

    I'll have to ask the son tomorrow. I know Lou used to pastor at one in the Chicago area, but now they are in Rockford, I believe he is in the ministry with one of the churches around there. I'm sure it would be an independant baptist church, but I'll find out and ask you about it. Thanks!

    I'll be in the area between Oct 14 and Oct 19. It looks like I won't be able to attend a Sunday service on the 14th but would seriously consider making it to a mid-week service.

    Webmaster...the 14th happens to be our anniversary Sunday...we're having a huge brunch and then our afternoon service is going to actually occur at 1PM. I know you said you couldn't attend a sunday service...didn't know if it was a time restraint issue or not. Let me know if youre interested...if not, pray for me anyway, the Pastor asked me to give my testimony that afternoon. I don't mind speaking in front of the church for this reason, it's just that I ALWAYS get SO emotional when giving my testimony and speaking of my "gratefullness" that God's wisdom is so....best word I can think of is "INFINITE!" People look at me like I'm crazy when I say I'm thankful that he saw to it to allow me to go through brain cancer...but, he knew it would break me to the point that he could use me, and bring me back to him!
