He actually did a nice job of putting it in context. Should give it a try now and then :)

You still rejected the teaching of that passage is spite of his "nice job of putting it in context."

The context of John 10:26 is this. Jesus is preaching the gospel. There is a division among the Jews. Some said, "he hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?" Others said, "These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?" Ok, some saw the works that the Father gave Him to do and believed this is the Messiah sent from God. Others saw a mad man, a lunatic.

Then, the Jews that didn't believe came to Him and asked, "How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly." He answered thus, "I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my boice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one." Then these unbelievers took up stones to stone Him.

The sheep believed. Those that weren't sheep didn't beleive. Why? Because they weren't sheep. The cause of their unbelief, though He performed many miracles among them, fullfilled prophecy, declared Himself among them, spake like never man spake before, and did things no man can do they still did not believe. The reason for this is, "ye are not of my sheep." Again, it takes help to misunderstand this simple section of scripture.

Not a word I use often. And while I questioned the spelling, I wasn't going to take the time to look it up. Life is too short, more so for some of us than others. Keep declaring the truth of God's Word. In Christ we trust!

Enjoyed the ups and downs of this thread, but WAY past the normal limit of any thread on the BB so going to shut it down.

I'm certain this won't be the last word on the subject . . . :wavey:
