Joe - let me say that while I disagree with your position I certainly understand it and it seems to be based on well thought on logic. I am sure we will agree much more than we will disagree. At least I hope so! [IMG]

    I am ok to agree to disagree. [IMG]

    As I read and study God's Word, I have yet to see where God did act contrary to his nature. I don't see anywhere in scripture, however, that says God cannot act in such a manner. If you could show me in Scripture where it says that, I would be more than happy to agree with Scripture. Let God be true and every man a liar...

    I look forward to being unified in the truth of Scripture with all brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you for the kind words. [IMG]

    How do we know what sin is? God told us.
    So if God does it is it sin? No I don't believe so therefore it is impossible for God to sin and as a result impossible for Jesus to sin since Jesus is God incarnate.

    Just my two cents that can be disregarded at will ;)

    Ronald Reagan is also my favorite president.

    2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:22, 1 John 3:5 All tell us that Christ never sinned.

    There is that better [IMG]

    </font>
Not to steal Joe's thunder but He is not disagreeing the Jesus never sinner. He believes that God could sin if He wanted to. He believes God doesn't want to but He believes He has the power to do so. Joe and I are in disagreement on that issue. I believe God cannot sin.

    I have seen that passage. It does not say, however, that God cannot sin. It is clear that God chooses not to sin. [IMG]

    For God to commit sin he would need to stop being God. God is so pure and Good that sin cannot be in his presence which is why sin separates us from him. 1 James 1:13 even says that God cannot be Tempted by sin

    God may be able to sin if he gives up being God but since he is no longer God should that happen it doesn't apply that God can sin.

    The Gospels tell us that Jesus was tempted in the wilderness for 40 days. Was he or was he not tempted?

    Ahh Matthew 4 when the devil tested Jesus. I assert that to be Tempted you must consider actually doing something. At no time did Jesus consider actually succumbing to the devils requests and therefore he wasn't tempted to sin. Jesus' heart was pure.

    Great conversation btw, thank you

    Show me from Scripture where it says that God is not completely omnipotent, and I will agree with Scripture. The difference between the one true God of Israel and Allah is that our God actually exist.

    Omnipotence does not mean God can do things that are logically impossible.

    Yes, but in His human nature, not as God.

    You mean like heal lepers, raise people from the dead, and rise from the dead himself? I am thinking Omnipotence is not limited even by what we think is logically impossible. I think God is bigger than even that.

    </font>
This is curious thinking here. Was he not still God when he was in the wilderness? What are you saying here?
