How do you put the 3 passages in concert. It would seem that Jael, & those who" hear the word of God and keep it" are just as blessed or more than Sister Mary.

Judges 5:24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.

Luke 11:27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!"
28 But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"

Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Before I reply, what exactly are you looking for in a response? In what order are these blessings? Or are you attempting to show that Mary wasn't really that blessed? Just clarify for me a little bit please. Thanks!

He probably wants to know why the Catholic church doesn't pray to that woman, make statues of her, claim that she was without sin, etc.

That two contingency. You can work on those two. Can you think of another possibility?

All the pagan religions had their female deities and the pagan Christians wanted to keep theirs (Isis, Diana, Ishtar,( Easter?) Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite etc) so they came up with a compromise and replaced theirs with Mary.

It was precisely Mary who heard the Word of God and kept it with such docility, faithfulness, and perseverence that she is rightly called "blessed" due to her faith.

In a bit, further on in the semester, I'll consider posting on how Luke presents Mary as fulfilling the role of the Gebirah (Hb. for "Great Lady" - the title of the Davidic Queen Mothers, the first of whom was Bethsheba) in the Old Testament.

    Ave Maria, Ora Pro Nobis!

WHAT! You did not deal with the Bible Passages AGAIN! I laist them again.

    Hi John,

Normally, I don't repeat myself, because if I do, that usually means that my audience isn't listening, and I figure, "What's the point?"

It was precisely Mary who heard the Word of God and kept it (Luke 11:7-28) with such docility, faithfulness, and perseverence that she is rightly called "blessed" due to her faith.

Did you notice that the Angel Gabriel in Lk 1:28 addresses Mary with "Hail!"? In a bit, further on in the semester, I'll consider posting on how Luke presents Mary as fulfilling the role of the Gebirah (Hb. for "Great Lady" - the title of the Davidic Queen Mothers, the first of whom was Bethsheba) in the Old Testament.

Ave (Eng. Hail!) Maria, Ora Pro Nobis!

    May God bless you,

    Carson Weber

You could be right if a person joins a form and talks about cat when dogs is the post. "What's the point?"

When people who call themself christan will not deal with God word."What's the point?"

When people are lost in work salvation and call it grace. "What's the point?"

    Jeremiah 22:5
But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.

</font>[/QUOTE]When people ask a question only to preach and lecture the respondants. What's the point?

How about facing the real point; you formed this post not to hear our answers, but to tell us that we're wrong. Which is fine and dandy and you have all the right to do so. What it dosen't have IS a point. This isn't a debate; it's a public flogging, as pretty much all of your recent posts have been. Last I checked, this isn't the way to educate anyone.

If we're so lost, why do you have such impatience? Do you think impatience will win us over to your theology? I wouldn't count on it.

You presume incorrectly that all Catholics do not read the Bible. Is such a judgement on your part a sin?

Given this knowledge of your prior experience as a Catholic, it will interesting to watch your future posts to test your understanding of the true teachings of the Catholic Church. My guess is that you were not very knowledgeable as a Catholic.

    We shall see. [IMG]

From AN EXPLANATION OF THE BALTIMORE CATECHISM, page 273, "In this last mystery (the Coronation of the Blessed Virgin in heaven), we consider our blessed Lady just after her entrance into heaven, being received by her divine Son, our blessed Lord, and being crowned queen of heaven (Ed-see Jeremiah 44:17) over all the angels and saints."

    POST VATICAN II

From WOMAN CROWNED WITH STARS by Michael Malone (Imprimatur: Bishop Sullivan, Baton Rouge, 1981). "Our Blessed Mother's Rosary concludes with the Mystery of the Coronation of the Immaculate Virgin Mary as Queen of all creation; however, the crowning of Our Lady is not the culmination, but the actual commencement, of all that has even happened from the very beginning of time."

When Pius XII defined the Assumption of Mary Nov. 1, 1950, it was stated that she went, body and soul, to Heaven, where she was crowned. In Roman Catholic thought and theology, she is revered as Queen of Heaven.

    CHRISTIAN COMMENT

The Queen of Heaven is the name for the female deity often pictured with a baby at her breast. In Jeremiah 44:17 " But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil." we read of the backslidden Jews burning incense and pouring out drink offerings to the Queen of Heaven. This was an abomination (vs. 22).

When unconverted pagans were welcomed into the degenerate church from around the 4th century, they brought with them this concept of female deity, and this was "Christianized" and became the cult of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

    John --

Don't you ever git tired of warping your mind with those poisonous little Chick tracts? Or is it Lorraine Boettner's monumental piece of lying screed ROMAN CATHOLISM?

Either way, you are doing yourself a disservice.

And the sad part is that there are people here who can explain quite thoroughly to you what is going on, but you have been so brainwashed by this pap that you cannot even hear.

    Sad

    Brother Ed

Judges 5:24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.

Jael is called "Blessed above women." Two pages have been written now. Catholics have not answered the original question posted? As usual they stick to tradition and put tradition of greater importance than the Word of God. If you don't have an answer, why don't you humbly admit it?
