    I have a question.
What happens if a born again christian gets doubts about Jesus and God before he dies and he dies in a state of doubt? Does this mean he goes to hell and he believed in vain? :(
    This scares me. :(
What if I get confused before I die and then I go to hell? :(
Life as a christian is not easy, it's pure pressure. You always have to be afraid of doubting or not having enough faith...

Christianity is a journey. What counts is the sum total of your life, not your state of mind when you die.

What is "doubt," anyway, and how do you react to it? Does doubt spur curiosity in you, a need to learn more, to directly address your questions? Or does doubt spur despair, a "forget aboout it" attitude. It is my contention that the former is good doubt -- that doubt that spurs us deeper.

Of course I want answers to my questions but I dont have them. If only I knew experienced christians which could help me. Then everything would be fine. But I don't. I feel like I'm all alone in this.

Jimbo, would you be more specific about "doubts about Jesus and God"? Are you saying that you doubt that Jesus is who He says He is and that God sent Him to die in our place for the price of sin?

    Jimbo,

You are not always going to feel like this. As I have already told you, your Christian faith is a journey. You have to start trusting God at some point instead of relying on yourself. Instead of focussing on all the questions you have, why not try focussing on what God has already done for you in giving up His Son to die on the cross for your sins, that you might look forward to eternity with Him? Think of all the blessings He has bestowed on you today? Go forward in confidence that your sins are forgiven by the only one who could forgive them so completely, that His love for you knows no bounds and that He longs for you to talk to Him about all your fears and doubts. This wonderful Saviour of ours wants to have a personal relationship with you. Stop putting up barriers and rest in His love and guidance for your life.

    God Bless

    Hi Sheila!
I already talk to God about all my problems.
It's simply such a bad feeling when you think that Satan has blinded you to the whole work of salvation! This upsets me! Salvation is not just being saved and going to heaven one day. It's much more! But I cannot really realize it this upsets me! Satan tries to rob us off this. When you don't know your authority in Christ then you also cannot use it. If you don't know you're a millionaire you can still live like a beggar, you know what I mean?
This upsets me. It's the feeling of missing something or not having something which I could have.

    Hi Jimbo,

When satan tried to temp Jesus during his 40 days in the wilderness, Jesus used Scripture against satan. It is in knowing and believing in Scripture that we can arm ourselves against satan. Are you familiar with Ephesians 6:10-18?

There are also several good books about spiritual warfare. One I would recommend is Dressed to Kill by Rick Renner. It focusses on the above passage in Ephesians.

    God Bless you Jimbo

I know its sound simplistic, but the answers are found in prayer and staying in the Word of God. I have been through several spiritaul crisis through the years and it only by relying on the Lord to speak to me through His Word that I get through.

Good Christian authors are a good idea as well, when their works are based on the Scriptures.

Actually, you're quite wrong in this. You've been getting a lot of good advice from a lot of qualified and experienced Christians. But you refuse to take anyone's advice. Instead, you continue to while, and refuse to do anything productive in regards to your faith. You prefer to have a God who is a like a vending machine, where you just pray for something and "poof", instant gratification. You prefer to sit and whine about faith not being the way you want it, when you need to know that kind of that attitude off and start taking the advice of all the people here on the board.

Sorry to be so harsh, my brother, but no matter what we tell you, you're just sluffing off what people tell you and continue to whine like a baby. You need to stop that. It's unhealthy. Start doing something. Stop with the "I try but" and the "I want to but". The only think keeping you from growing your faith is you.

Once upon a time there were two kids who were at the library and they were waiting for their father to pick them up and take them home. One of them fretted and worried. "What if he doesn't come? What if he doesn't love us any more? What if he decides we aren't his kids?" The other one didn't worry, just kept reading.

When the father came to pick them up, he could tell that one of them was worried. What does a father do in that case? Doesn't he promise them both they are his children forever, and it doesn't really matter how much they worry about it, he's always going to be there for them?

If you then, being evil, know how to be faithful and good to your children, how much more will your heavenly father be sure and steadfast on your behalf?

Don't worry that your worries can seperate you from God. That would be a pretty perverse kind of love, wouldn't it? God's love is not perverse.

I am beginning to wonder about our friend, JimboJones.

JJ, what is your testimony? How and when did you come to trust Christ?

Why do you feel alone? Aren't you in a church? What church are you in? You just list "protestant church" on your profile. What church? Why aren't you talking with the people in your church?

First of all Jimbo, we don't go by feelings. We go by the word and the word works.

I have had mornings when I woke up, I wondered if God heard heard me, or cared.

But the Word says He careth for you. It says that if we are faithful and ask Him to come into our hearts He will, and He will protect us and keep us.

If you have asked The Lord to come into your heart, and really meant it, then stop whining and start standing on the Word, NO MATTER HOW YOU FEEL!!

    God loves You!!

    Tam

    Billwald,

Thats a good place to be too. If any man thinks he knows anything he knows not as he ought.

Good place according to scripture. (a paradoxical time and season)

    God Bless

    Jimbo,

You might like to take a look at the online discovery series. A particular one which you may find useful is"How Can I know What God Wants Me To Do?" at www.discoveryseries.org/q0704

Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.

    Jimbo,

Jesus KNEW we would have doubts. Of course, He would. He knew us before we were. The story about doubting Thomas is not in the Bible for no reason. It is to assurace us. God knew some would just believe and some would believe AND need evidence. Now we have His Word. Jimbo, please just rest in the love of Jesus.

But my doubts are not normal. They keep me from getting my prayers answered. The bible says it!
You cannot please God without faith. :(
