"I always thought it had the apocrypha because early English believers thought it truly was scripture"
Actually they thought those books were very worthwhile, but not true inspired scripture, a very worthy sentiment in my opinion.
And ofcourse the KJV isn't a Roman Catholic Bible, it's an Anglican Bible authorized by the the then Head of the Anglican Church.

I think Ed has gone overboard by playing the "lie" card. It is one of the best websites around, if you actually read the content of it. I think the 1611 statement is just misquoted, if you took the time and looked through the website you find that the website only uses the KJV1611 Bible and nothing else. Just like all the IFB churches I see in the phone book that say "KJV1611 only". It compares text in different Bibles and how each one is in error like the the NIV.

    Site says this:
    Revelation 13:4-5
And they worshipped the dragon which
gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast,
saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able
to make war with him? And there was given unto him
a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies...

    This is an incorrect citation.
The quote is from the King James Version, 1769 Edition (KJV1769).

    Reuelation XIII:4-5a (KJV1611):

    And they worshipped the dragon
which gaue power vnto the beast, and
they worshipped the beast, saying, Who
is like vnto the beast? Who is able to
    make warre with him?
    5. And there was giuen vnto him a
mouth, speaking great things, and blasphemies,

    ...

Ed, you never stop to amaze me. Chick pub make the little gospel tracts and actually quotes the Bible itself. Nothing wrong with that.

Here is a link to an online Bible the website uses:
    KJV1611

A quote from the online Bible that is so nicely provided by the website.

013:004 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
013:005 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months

We are all human and make mistakes, the website is run by one person I believe who has been very busy doing the Lords work and taking care of much needed personal issues.

You can disagree all you want but do try and discredit a website or the person of their reputation because of a silly mistake. If you knew anything of the website owner you would know that they are probably just as, if not more devoted to the Lord than 90% people on this board.
You are robbing that person, by your quick judgment, if you know what I mean. If not, read your Bible

That KJV 1611 website you linked to does not contain the KJV1611.

    What does it contain then?
When I click on it, the Bible that the website uses/promotes comes up.

    From the link:
Look through the website, it will tell you why they choose only to use this Bible version. Now if they use the authentic version I do not know, I only know what version they use (provided in the link) and it does NOT contain the Aprocrypha.

Sorry, Brother Matthew 16:24, that on-line Bible
is NOT the King James Version, 1611 Edition (KJV1611).
It is the King James Version, 1769 Edition (KJV1769).

    Ruth 3:15 KJV1769):
(quoted from the source linked above)
Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee,
and hold it. And when she held it,
he measured six measures of barley, and laid
it on her: and she went into the city.

In the KJV1873 "he went into the city"
In the KJV1611 "he went into the citie"

This is a fact regarding the various editions of the KJV.
If someone has an opinion on the matter, maybe we
aught to go to the Versions Forum.

BTW, the matter of the comics is also an opinion,
which may vary from person to person.

I need to go teach my sunday school class about Jonah's call.

Here is a good article about
The REAL 1611 King James Version
    [IMG]

I believe the Antichrist to be an individual
person, not a line of kings, not a line
of popes, not a computer. [IMG]

Right, Sister I Am Blessed 16!

The Antichrist is going to claim
to be "the Christ" (the Messiah).
The Antichrist will not claim to
    be the Antichrist.

    2 Thessalonians 2

    1 Now we beseech you, brethren, touching the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto him;
2 to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand; 3 let no man beguile you in any wise: for it will not be, except the falling away come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,
4 he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, setting himself forth as God.

I see no mention of Anti-Christ, but I do see that it was at hand in the 1st century.

Grasshopper, you asked about the man. The passage mentions the man. The timing is not what you asked about. [IMG]

The Beast of Revelation 13:14 is the antichrist. He is the number of a man. [vs. 18] As Ed Edward said, this human, man monster of the future will not deny Christ but will claim that he himself is the Christ. For awhile many of the Israelites will believe him to be the true coming Messiah. He will have power to do miracles and God will allow Satan to give him that ability. [vs. 13]

    Grasshopper,
It is almost futile attempting to get some to READ the bible for an explaination of who(or what) 'antichrist' is! But the word of God gives us the true explaination:

1Jo.2:18,22 "Dear children, THIS IS THE LAST HOUR; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now MANY antichrists HAVE come. This is how we know IT IS THE LAST HOUR...Who is a liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist--he denies the Father and the Son."

1Jo.4:3 "but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. THIS IS THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST, which you HAVE heard is coming AND EVEN NOW IS ALREADY IN THE WORLD."

2Jo.7 "MANY deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, HAVE GONE OUT INTO THE WORLD. ANY such person is a DECEIVER and ANTICHRIST."

These are the ONLY scriptures that mention 'antichrist' by name. And they state that by it ALREADY being the LAST HOUR, MANY 'antichrists' HAVE(already) come. They were people(many) who were denying that Jesus had ALREADY come in the flesh, and that He was from the Father. Even today there are many 'antichrists' in the world. Yet the Apostle John was conveying that in HIS time Many 'antichrists' were present. They were considered "false prophets" that "have ALREADY gone out into the world"(1Jo.4:1). This probably can be associated with the "rebellion"(2Thes.2:3) and the "some will abandon the faith"(1Tim.4:1) and "terrible times"(2Tim.3:1) as spoken by Paul and the ones "even denying the sovereign Lord"(2Pet.2:1) stated by Peter, to which Jude says was taking place already(Jude 17,18). This is what SCRIPTURE says about 'antichrist'. Anything short of this is pure conjecture, mass speculation, a rubberband twisting attempt to provide bad hermenuetics to the scriptures. I feel very sure that the modern day veiw of 'antichrist' by the masses today is not what John was purporting to his first century audience.
