What is your favorite Christian radio station?

One of the best radio stations I've run across in a while is All Quartet's Radio, an internet station out of Maryland. Everything they play is in four-part harmony, mixed and men's voices. The man who runs the station, Carl Ramsay, seems to be a very dedicated christian. They play the old music, even sometimes gospel groups from the 40's and 50's. I like it a lot.

Any station that plays Southern Gospel and/or Gospel Blue Grass and has decent equipment - so the sound that they put out is good.

I recently moved from Fort Worth to GA and miss these two radio stations tremendously:

KLTY 94.9 and
KWRD 100.7

(I also really miss the local am news station, but since it is not a "Christian" station I guess that doesn't count huh?)

I listen to KS95. It isn't Christian. Christian music confuses me terribly. So, in order to not get confused, I am staying away from Christian music.

 

I do not have a favorite station. When I lived in the
Minneapolis area, the stations there were all either
preaching or southen gospel. In St. Louis, it was
the same. In California, we had a variety, as we
do here, but I have no favorites -- they all make me
tired at som point. Most of the time, I just listen to
classical music.

Jesse, you seem to have a rough time with many of
the Cchristian influences around you. I am a bit
concerned. 8o) Is it that you are just a bit of a
maverick, a wave-maker, or have you had a lot of
bad experiences? What confuses you about the
music? Are thee any Christian artists, groups, or
styles of music that you like? 8o)

 

Christians are a "fruit of the spirit basket" not a "fruit of the season basket". The difference being that Fruit of the spirit includes all the fruit whereas, fruit of the season basket includes only the fruit that happens to be in season at the time. Therefore, Christian radio makes every attempt to keep there listener base as broad as possible in order to keep their "skimpy" revenue base as deep as possible. Hense a "fruit of the spirit basket" mentality. A very difficult task I might add, since each "fruit of the spirit" variety must also be 'kept current'.

So, Praise God for the "fruit of the Spirit" radio stations who do work very hard to please most of the people most of the time.

In the greater Los Angeles area, there is but one Christian "music" based radio station, and that is KFSH, "K-Fish". There are two additional Christian "Talk" radio stations that occasionally play some contemporary Christian music, but their forte is Talk and interview programming.

 

We only have one Christian Radio station here, it is called Life Fm 107.9, It plays a mix of secular and Christian music. I prefer CD's.

 

I actually almost went to work at KSBJ when they first went on the air. I did work at their predecessor, "KFMK 98 FM, Houston's 24-Hour Love Song". That station was sold and went to a CHR format, now I think it is urban contemporary "The Box".

They play both on Sundays and "Stained Glass Bluegrass" is rebroadcast throughout the week.

 

Does anybody here listen to http://www.oneplace.com?

 

In my area I can pick up WAY-FM, K-LOVE, and American Family Radio's CCM network depending on the area I'm in. I'd like to be able to get Air 1, K-LOVE's more CHR network, but the only I can get them is over the Internet.

If it weren't for the satellite CCM networks most of my area wouldn't have any CCM radio. The locally owned Christian stations are still run by people who are either prejudiced against CCM or cave in to sponsors that oppose it.
