Is this true? If so, are millions of Christians being deceived?

Ever since Rev. Moon was "crowned" king and messiah on Capitol Hill, I have been thinking about it. Then I saw a picture on the Internet with Jerry Falwell and the Rev. Moon. Now I've found this article. I'm wondering if any of it is true. If so, are Christians being suckered in, being deceived? Your thoughts? Is any of this true, or is it slanderous garbage? (If untrue, I certainly don't want to injure a brother or sister in Christ.) Has anyone here researched this stuff?

Take a look in particular at the blue box on the right. I am nearly speechless.

LadyEagle,

I happened on this not to long ago and wondered the same thing. I didn't post it because I thought that it might be considered just another of my senseless attempts at beating my dead horse by using an unreliable source with no credibility.

I admire your bravery... :D

Poncho,

It never stopped you before... :D

LE,

I always kinda thought Falwell was a con artist. But, that is just my opinion of him and I don't know enough about the Moon incident to comment on that.

LE,

I'd say major league slander. (The photos of Nazis on page two kind of gives it away)

Personally, I don't even like most of these people but most of the "evidence" here is pretty slim. Someone being a part of an organization that Moon donated to is proof that they are a part of the NWO plan? Not enough in my book. Moon is well known to have tossed quite a lot of money across conservative Christian circles.

Should anyone be taking money from Moon? No.
Should organizations check out who their major contributors are? Yes.
Should Falwell think that it's ok to "take money from the Devil" to save his organization? Absolutely not! (God is able to save His own)
Should we conclude that because he and others did so they have sold out to Moon? No.

Don't get me wrong, there could be rotten apples in the bunch. But someone will have to come forth with something a whole lot more convincing than this.

NWO, Moon and the Nazis? The whole article is simply guilt by association. I think that the article is simply written to cause doubt and confusion...

Ed

Well Joseph,

Maybe I'm just getting a little more thoughtful in my old age. ;)

Thanks for your comments, Ed. I realize the source for the piece is way out there. It's not the NWO that I'm questioning. It's the Moon connection between so many so-called Evangelical or Fundamentalist Christians that concerns me and taking money and having business ties with him. I remember when the Rev. Moon and his group were considered a cult. I remember parents having their children being brainwashed by the Moonies. And now he is supposedly not only mainstream and crowned messiah on Capitol Hill but supposedly has all these "connections", DBA with well-known Christian leaders. This is the part that is appalling and just floors me. What ever happened to separation? If the "ministry" is God's ministry, isn't it up to God to supply the needs, not get a handout from a cultist? These are the things I find disconcerting to say the least. It may not be a NWO conspiracy, but it sure doesn't gel.

Oh, Moon again. <sigh> Can't get away from him here because most Christians read his paper, The Washington Times.

I have posted a lot of info on other threads here that came up about Moon (I think in one of the current news forums).

Many evangelicals have spoken at Moon-sponosored functions. This is nothing new. The Washington Times promotes Republicans and conservative views, so Christians love it. It is read by most Christians here. It is Moon's way of trying to get credibility with Christians.

I have done outreaches at Moon events and seen buses from churches roll up with people attending led by their pastors. Many of these are African-American churches that may need money, and it is rumored that Moon gives them money. At one event, he gave gold watches to the pastors who came. We used fliers that contrasted Moon's beliefs with the Bible.

Before he does an event here, he sends letters to churches all over the area (my church gets them but, of course, my pastors do not attend) inviting them to come.

Moon has successfully been able to use conservative politics to lure some Christians. He also uses the "unity" card. He claims to want to unite all races and nationalities. This is why one Asian woman screamed "racist" at me for about 5 full minutes at one outreach (never mind that 2 African-Americans were part of our outreach team).

Here's more info from one ministry that has done a lot of research on Moon. Click on this to get a list of articles:

I have known Brother Ed McAteer of the Religious Roundtable for more than 45 years and I don't believe he would have any part in this. He is an outstanding Christian and a staunch defender of the faith. I would say this is slanderous nonsense.

Delly, you got me thinking. Lady Eagle, I did a little digging, and called in a few favors.

First, I knew Jay Sekulow personally. For those who aren't aware, Sekulow is founder of the ACLJ, a legal organization that promote religious liberty. I contacted the ACLJ this morning. They deny the "association" claim, and they have no record of ever having received donations from either Moon or his Unification church.

Second, I called a friend of mine who works for Crystal Cathedral Ministries (Schuller's ministry), which is about 10 minutes from me. He called me back and said that they have no record of ever having received donations from either Moon or his Unification Church.

He, then, called an associate of his, who works for Coral Ridge Ministries (Kennedy's ministry), who did the same thing. Again no record of them receiving any funds from Moon or his organization.

I can't speak for the others listed, and I'm not defending the theology or teachings of these men (many of whom I disagree with). However, I think it's reasonable to conclude that Rense is a nutcase.

Well I know this Jerry Falwell showed up to a Benny Hinn prayer meeting and held hands with Benny Himself agreeing with him in prayer. So this would not suprise me if its true. Alot of people like this Moon guy. Remember the bible says even the very elect can be deceived.

I don't know specifically about those that may have received money from Moon, but some of them have spoken at Moon-sponsored events. However, it would not surprise me that many of them did receive money from Moon's front organizations. He's in the habit of presenting awards to people to "honor" them, and this is how he gets them on his side so that later they do not want to criticize him. It is practically impossible to get Christians in this area to openly criticize Moon.

I do not support the conspiracy theories I see on this site, but I think some of his info on the Moon issue is at least partly correct.

This all started when Moon got into the trouble with the IRS years ago, and Falwell and several evangelicals came to his side and supported him because they saw it as a religious freedom issue. Moon may have got the idea then of using Christians.

Allow me to be the proverbial 'devil's advocate'.
Just because a couple-three 'ministries' claim to have no records of certain donations does not necessarily mean the donations never happened.
I have always mistrusted T.V. "preachers". Always will. Jesus and his little band of men never sought out such notoriety as have these men, Falwell, Kennedy, et.al.
It would not surprise me in the least if every allegation in the article were true.
Scripture is very clear that nearly EVERYONE in these last days will be fooled into organizing this NWO.
Just one question for you. How close to the real thing does a counterfeitor strive to make his phony substitute? (forgive that clunky sentence please, eeeeek!)
Any way...just a couple things to ponder. Like I sadi, would not surprise me a bit, if true.
In His service;
Jim

That's your prerogative. As for me, I have no preconception one way or another. If a preacher decides to start taping his message, and starts airing them, I don't see that as a prerequisite for mistrust. It's been said that Paul and the early church leaders didn't seek notariety. But Peter, Paul, and the gang were eventually well known in the early church in their lifetimes. Who's to say they wouldn't have used media such as radio or TV if they had those resources available? No one can say. But I think to simply dismiss a preacher just because his sermons are televised is a tad prejudicial. That being said, it's understandable, but it's still prejudicial. Now, I'm not accusing you of being prejudiced, I'm just responding in advocatus diaboli like and kind [IMG]
True. Likewise, just because some crackpot claims donations were made doesn't mean they were. it's no different than all those crackpot sites that claim that D James Kennedy, Jerry Falwell, and Billy Graham are freemasons, or visitors from outer space, or are housing Jimmy Hoffa and Elvis.

Thank you, Marcia.
I have never understood why some Christians will simply accept something simply by virtue of the fact that it carries the moniker "conservative." I pointed out who owned the Washington Times to a fellow Believer a few weeks ago, and they responded with "So? At least they aren't liberal like YOU!"

Anyone supporting the Washington Times is supporting this gentleman. Thanks for pointing this out for those who may have been unaware. [IMG]

Now this comment made me spit decaf coffee all over my iMac. This is hilarious! [IMG]
