    Well, well, here is another ridiculous case of a guilty loser wasting the time and money of the taxpayers so they can get off. I am sure it will happen.

    She was convicted based on the evidence of the Feds, was not able to counter their evidence, found guilty, and is now to appeal. How great is that?

    She will probably pay a ton of money and cut a deal to keep her from becoming another woman's special friend in prison.

    I hope it was worth it Martha. I hope that $60,000.00 was worth your reputation, your business, the millions you spent on legal fees, the millions you will spend still, your magazine, etc.

    I want a public execution with a butter knife. She needs to be made an example of so that others won't repeat it.

    1) It's called the justice system. What do you want to replace it with - one like
    Iran's. :rolleyes:

    2) Since you are a Christian, I hope you are just kidding.

    I think some would stand a better chance in Iran!

    Cheers,

    The sad reality of our justice system is - Martha could be sentenced to 20 years (though she probably won't be) which is longer than the time many murderers get for their offense!

    Dan - some things just don't add up!

    Personally, IMO, I don't think she did anything wrong. Also, if what I hear from the interview from the jurors is correct, it seems to me that they convicted her based on ignorant emotions and their ignorant assumption that they were sticking up for the little guy. If she is guilty of anything, it is probably being successful and having a bad personality.

    Know DD was joking. But the butter knife analogy is intriguing! Would it be a K-Mart knife from the "Martha Stewart Collection"? [IMG]

    The judge has shown incredible leniency to MS since day one. Threw out the major charges and disqualified much of the evidence.

    Judge thinks it is a witch hunt to persecute a celeb, not to prosecute a felon.

    Could get 18-months in a country club . . or (more likely) get off with a fine and community service.

    Like picking up trash in K-Mart parking lots . . :rolleyes:

    I've always disliked her. She does try though. I watched a show of hers recently where she was working with kids and she was trying to be nice, but it looked like she wanted to wring their little necks!
    Definitely has some issues, but I really don't believe she's a criminal, let alone one that deserves jail time.
    But, the court system has found her guilty. I hope that at least there's a way where if she gets time she wouldn't have to spent it with those that have committed violent crimes, but they probably don't differentiate, huh?

    A person is innocent until they have been found guilty in a court of law. She has been found guilty in a court of law. It is not for me to second-guess the twelve people that has found her guilty, not knowing all of the evidence that was against her.
    My hope is that the judge will look at sentencing guidelines and determine that this is what the average person would get for this, so that is what Martha will get.

    There was a man out here a few months ago that has missed his children grow up, missed a number of good years from his life, while serving time for rape. The victim had looked at him and said yep, that's him!
    Thankfully someone decided to second guess the jury's decision, pull out the evidence, and found that the DNA of the guy who did it, taken from the woman, was NOT his.

    She is a mean and rude person, sometimes;
    She is rich person;
    She is a greedy person, sometimes;
    She is a stupid person, sometimes;
    She made a financial mistake because of her stupidity and greed;
    She then lied to cover it up.

    Thank goodness the same can't be said of us.

    Daniel, what is so dumb about all of this is that Martha went to court her first day carrying an $85,000 purse.

    What, she didn't make it herself out of a kleenex box, some left-over cabbage leaves, and some glitter? [IMG]

    Diane said somethin' along the lines "Carryin' an $85,000 purse!!!"(or something like that)

    To which Blackbird responds---"But how much money was she carrying IN that $85,000 purse?? Blackbird knows there's a difference between a woman carrying a purse that is empty and a purse that is loaded!!" Did anybody SEE if there was any bula-bula in the pursy-wersy??

    diane, thanks for the laughter and that photo of her non-macrame purse!!!

    MS reminds me of MJ. People idolize Michael Jackson, Martha Stewart, Bono of U2 (said "f" word), Howard Stern, Ollie North, Rush Limbaugh, so even when they are caught or accused of wrongdoing, abusing narcotic pills, insider trading, child molestation, arms for hostages, filthy language, whatever...

    ...fans rush to scream "witch hunt" and "persecution of beloved patriot or celebrity!"

    How silly we look to the Islamic or Third world, who accuse Americans of being lax, decadent, materialistic, hypocritical, unspiritual.

    Maybe we should listen to harsh critiques from any source. Might learn a little tiny bit, even from hideous enemies.

    I love seeing corporate scum and wealthy arrogant celebrities succumb to Justice. They thought they could get away with anything...just buy their way out of crime and sin.

    Martha Stewart promoted Harry Potter on her show, had two boys talking about how excited they were about this cool witchcraft indoctrination film. Guess God was listening.

    Never have liked the "woman". On occaision I have watched her show, but prefer Emeril, Jamie Oliver and Alton Brown. With that said, a few years ago I read a book about MS titled "Just Desserts". From what I read, she is now reaping what she has sown for many years.

    So, your theory is that God is behind her being convicted because she promoted the "Harry Potter" books? Surely you don't actually believe this! If everyone who promoted the "Harry Potter" books was convicted of a crime, the jails would not be able to hold all of the criminals. In fact, I took a course in Children's Literature from the University of Houston Downtown in which I was required to read the first "Harry Potter" book. Although I have not read any other in this series, I did not find the book objectable. If fact, since this phenomena has caused many students to look at reading more seriously, I'd say that the "Harry Potter" series has done much more good than harm.

    So all those guys who hate to read but will pick up Playboy for the, uh, articles...that's more good than harm too, right?
