A confidential memo circulating among senior Republican leaders suggests that a new attack by terrorists on U.S. soil could reverse the sagging fortunes of President George W. Bush as well as the GOP and "restore his image as a leader of the American people."

The closely-guarded memo lays out a list of scenarios to bring the Republican party back from the political brink, including a devastating attack by terrorists that could “validate” the President’s war on terror and allow Bush to “unite the country” in a “time of national shock and sorrow.”

The memo says such a reversal in the President's fortunes could keep the party from losing control of Congress in the 2006 midterm elections.

GOP insiders who have seen the memo admit it’s a risky strategy and point out that such scenarios are “blue sky thinking” that often occurs in political planning sessions.

“The President’s popularity was at an all-time high following the 9/11 attacks,” admits one aide. “Americans band together at a time of crisis.”

One hardly knows what to believe anymore. Just tonight, I've read things on the Internet from Monica Lewinsky being an Israeli spy to Chandra Levy being murdered because she knew about the 09/11 attacks and was about to spill the beans.

The politicians are all so corrupt, all I can do is keep looking UP, knowing God must be crying, too, but He is still in control.

And now Bush knows what it is like to be in Bill Clinton's shoes.

There are a few politians that are honest, but they're called radicals and extremists by the dishonest ones. Ron Paul is becoming quite alarmed by the actions of the corrupt politicos.

I heard him on the radio say, well here's what he said...
And that brings us back to the memo in question.

Why does anyone need a "memo" to come to that conclusion?

I've known for a long time that a few thousand more, maybe many thousands more, Americans are going to have to die right here in the good ole USA before a lot of people wake up. Even at that, I predict that somewhere around 30% of the public are unwakeable.

This is still a double edge sword for the party in power. The public reaction could go either way. "Throw the bums out" or "we should have paid better attention to their warnings".

Why would the Creator be crying? Nothing happens that He didn't already know was going to happen before the universe was ever created.

Besides, He knows how everything will work out in the end and He will be pleased with the result.

Prison Planet and Capitol Hill Blue - I wouldn't trust them as sources any further than I could throw them.

I am also afraid that Congressman Ron Paul may be going off the deep end with his comments. I have thought of him as being a great U.S. representative. I'll have to rethink that now.

Sure go deeper into the trance as real conservatives are finally coming out of theirs. Sounds like the "safe" thing to do to me.

Other than being conservative on social issues, I would not call myself a "real conservative". I have become much more moderate on economic and foreign policy issues.

I've read that only around 3% of the colonial population was behind the American revolution in the begining, including preachers. More joined as time went on and the odds of winning independence got even longer.

Jesus was fully human at the time that He wept. He also felt physical pain as a human.

God in Heaven does not feel physical pain. Nor do I think the He cries in Heaven as He has already told us that there are no tears in Heaven.

I don't think many Republicans can call themselves real conservatives with a straght face anymore these days. But the faux conservatives can call Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo racial radical extremists without to many qualms. [IMG]

I don't see Tom Tancredo getting in these nutty conspiracies like Ron Paul is doing? Have I missed something that Congressman Tancredo has said?

Gotta go now. My wife is taking me out for my 50th birthday dinner.

    Later, gators.

Genesis 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Physical pain isn't the only pain that can make one weep.

It isn't what Tancredo is saying it's what the faux conservatives are saying. The word vigilante comes to mind and that word parted from the lips of a faux conservative in the White House. ;)

Happy birthday from Corey, Flanders, Cisco and I Ken.

Wiping away tears doesn't happen until the new heaven and new earth, anyway, Ken, when God will wipe away all of our tears.

    poncho is right, God grieves.

Tears and compassion go together. Besides, Jesus is the Creator.

Tom Tancredo is about the only politician I trust now. The American public is starting to sense that our borders will never be protected by our government, because it is not the plan for the global one world government soon to come.

I wish some conservative would have the guts to expose this memo, if it is true.

    Happy Birthday, Ken.

Considering they are building the infrastructure for the FTAA in Texas already the border will be transformed (not secured) into being part of the super highway from the tip of South America to Canada. That, our tax dollars are and will continue to pay for. We're paying for our own demise, how comforting!

I heard Paul Craig Roberts speak in person here at Murphy Oil several years ago. I respect his opinions even if I don't always agree with him.
