Becasue of the BB being wacky today I couldn't edit the spelling on the previous post, the 'won' should be 'own'.

Those websites remind me of the 'Arm and Hammer' supports the 'devil' rumor from the 1970's et al.

Dear donnA,
Maybe she is doing what I have often done. Ask a question to see what other people say. One of the reasons I post so little in comparison to what I read is that I tend to say it all in one post; I don't do very well at back and forth.
I also tend to think of a response about two days after Dr. Bob says "This thread has run its course." ;)
Also, maybe she is busy. You are coming across more intense than you surely mean.

Donna, What did you want to discuss?

I am not for witchcraft and I know your not. I posted the topic and when I checked back next, it was up to 2 pages already. I would have to agree with Karen, there is not much else to say. Not unless you are trying to pick a fight with me over this, which seems highly unlikely in this case since we both agree. [IMG]

No, Jim1999, few people know what witchcraft means. Most of what we Americans "think" is witchcraft (black cats, broomsticks, "magic" wands, etc) are either fabrications from the pens of authors, or simple contrived folklore.

I have a coworker that is a Wiccan High Priest, and his wife a Priestess. In other words, witches. He calls himself "Rev." They perform weddings, and have weekly meetings. His coven has just incorporated as a "church" with non-profit status. He wears a ring on his right hand with an upside-down star, or pentagram, on it. He says that his group wants to help people, and will "set positive energies in motion" on your behalf if you have a problem. So it does exist, folks.

Modern day wicca bears little, if any, resemblence to wicca of thousands of years ago. Modern day wicca is more akin to folks who did not qualify for membership into the Star Trek fan club. Just because they say they can "set positive energies in motion" doesn't mean they have any ability to do so (I'll have more success by rearanging my furniture).

There's also a virtual church of the blind chihuahua. That doesn't mean that chihuahuas has any spiritual power.

(and, for you Alias fans, don't forget the church of mammals ;) )

</font>
Yes, we both agree. But You started the conversation and on page 1 I posted a quote from the lonk you gave and asked a question. I thought we were discussing it.

</font>
Must have overlooked this one. Yes, Jacob's household did get rid of their idols. If I remember correctly they hid them under a tree.

Not sure what your looking for here, but if I was to give an answer, I would say things like crystals and stuff would attract evil elements according to some people.

While it is true that the "witchcraft" of today is nott he same as what was practiced in the past, it is still a vehicle that Satan uses.

Witches, both male and female, have no power themselves, only the power that Satan endows them with. For a witch to gain this power, he or she must be willing and open to receive it, i.e. available to any and all of Satan's minions. Hypnosis is a method widely used to open one's self, in that it is a willing act that completely abolishes any resistance. A person under hypnosis is an open and willing vessel, period.

A large portion of the "witches" today are pathetic, really. They use the name for attention. They don't really understand what they are dabbling in. It is the other part of the lot that is scary.

There have been threads discussing the "Harry Potter" subject, and will soon be again since the next movie comes out either this summer or fall. But people do not realize what they are teaching their kids. Think about it...here is this kid, with all this power, who can do all this cool stuff, all becasue he is a wizard (a male witch). He breaks the rules, but always ends up on top. He is a kid's ideal hero. And Satan's ideal recruitment ploy.

Think long and hard about this subject (witchcraft). Yes, Debby, it is real, and it is out there. I know, because I was very close to it's grasp. But God is greater than anything, praise His name.

In Christ,
Trotter

Which of course I would disagree with.

There were several statements from both links I had wanted to discuss, but since you only rally have a short time left here.
I'll just ask how you mean those sites to be taken? I don't know if you meant it this way or not, but they have the feel of accusing women of associating with or being involved with witch craft because they were jewelry/earrings, and makeup. Because thats all those sites seem to be saying.

The things about both websites that caught my attention is that;

1. the eye, and in witchcraft the drawing of attention to it

2. piercing as being a portal to allow demons to come in

After reading these links, I was shocked. Can any one truly say they abstain from all appearance of evil and participate in the above?

Donna, I have until 1st of March, discuss away! As long as that's what your doing.

How do you see the pierced ear as a 'portal' for demons to enter a person.
Is that what you said? Or did I misunderstand?
How come so many people have to see evil in everything?
You opened the topic with Harry Potter, one would have assumed these links were going to be about that kind of thing, but they had nothing to do with it. They were actually slamming women who wear makeup and jewelry.
I showed previously where the bible talks about earrings, it did not slam people who wore them, as a matter of fact they were not even addressed in a negative light.

Yes, I'd like to actually discuss your thoughts in posting those links, and your intentions.
