    Privileged

I was honored with the year I was able to spend under Drs. Strouse in Virginia Beach, VA in the 90's at the Bible College there.

I don't think that this is a good article.

Any time someone tells us to just believe the Bible, as though interpretation were a simple, one-dimensional act, he's ultimately telling us "believe what I believe."

There's more to it than that, and Strouse isn't admitting it in this article.

I hope you are not saying that interpretation is something that needs to be aided by some Nicolaitan "teacher".

Long article. In skimming over saw some very good points. Seemed to be what is for today, and that is we are on a one-on-one basis, and all can (should) be scholars of His Word.

I see he uses the basis of study to be studying of the Word to show our selves approved, rightly dividing His Word. Many know many facts and can spout them off in rapid fire. But if the facts are not rightly divided the learner is a biblical scholar and can be of some note, without knowing to divide. Most people never know the difference.

Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Galatians 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, :16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: :17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

Romans 3:4 ...,let God be true but every man a liar;.......

One who correctly shows the division within the Grace of God. The two foundations built upon the One foundation of Jesus Christ. Here we can see the Holy Place, and the Most Holy Place.

Ephesians 3:1-8, "For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
    2. If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
    3. How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
    4. Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
    5. Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
    6. That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
    7. Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
    8. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ?.

Oh I believe all that too. I believe God calls his ministers and they feed and instruct his people.

I just can't find in the Bible where paul then started a siminary and after they took so many classes and got graded and carried a high enough gpa that he then handed out degrees like Master of Divinity, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Theology.

but sorry I should not have crashed the party. I kind of hold to the Black Rock Address from the Historical split of 1832. so I will see my self out . ...

I'm saying that it isn't simple. Many things enter into it, some of which require what is called "scholarship," and which cannot be acquired through the routine activities of a local church. When a writer tells you otherwise, he's telling you to accept his interpretation.

Have you ever seen two people disagree over the interpretation of a text? How can this happen? How is it possible that someone disagrees with me, when he has a Bible right there in front of him?

If he simply believed the Bible, he'd agree with me, wouldn't he?

    simple

Well, I see what you mean. Nehemiah read the law and then gave the sense of it. I suppose that means that he had access to some information that some in his audience did not have.

Hello Christian friend. I thought the division of the Apostles you showed was for that purpose, but see your intent was of understanding of seminaries to be channels to funnel and mold thinking, mixing of faith with philosophy of man. I see you were only addressing one aspect, possibly unaware of Paul's primary (pointed out in 2:2) meaning in Galatians 1:11-12.

But I agree, and you see we need to sit at the feet of Paul, pulling from his wisdom and knowledge, who prostrated while being taught by Christ Jesus from heaven. This is what those first Christians did, as well as many of the Pentecostal church came to do, as done and shown by Peter in his second Epistle, third chapter.

Also agree many good points in BRAddress. I didn't consider you a "party crasher", but a Christian showing knowledge and understanding of the Bible.

Excellent article, and packed with explosive subject matter. Hate to see what would happen if someone lit a match.
