Well I don't want to cook or clean! :saint:

FoG since I have a fireplace and a dishwasher you must have been here! Come on back and I'll let you chose whether you want to cook or clean and then hire someone to do the other. :D

Sorry I've been gone a couple of days, but I've been busy painting and keeping a path through the house. Today was spent in B'ham with my dad who had a medical procedure that wouldn't allow him to drive after.

Now I got to go pick up kids and hear all about how bad their day has been and I was gone and Dad made them go to school and then there was no one to call and they don't feel good and......................

Remind me why I have kids? ;)

Would you rather have Parmesan - Crusted Chicken with Cream Sauce, and Chocolate Cheesecake Flan or a Clean house?, or should I make the meal then clean up the mess, and the house?

I'm getting this for our senior pastor who is a classic Mercedes nut and has 2 (one we bought off of E-bay 3 years ago for $8800), and he saw this and said if it was true, he wants it. LOL!!

This is a Baptist Church???? Things sure have changed from when I pastored Baptist Churches. I even drove a 55 Studebaker..one!

    Cheers,

LOL - Yep. It's his hobby. The one on E-bay that we got 3 years ago was amazing!! In Pastor's spare time, he likes to restore old cars - or keep up the ones he has. LOL - When I first came to the church and saw him drive into the parking lot with a black Mercedes I was thinking "They pay this man too much money!!" but then I found out it was a 1983 that he had restored himself. After helping him get the E-bay one, I was thinking that he really doesn't spend that much on cars - that was quite a bit less than any new car and it's gorgeous!! I honestly thought it still had the new car smell and it was a 1979! Now, you have to realize that Pastor has been at our church for 38 years AND his wife works for the church too doing a lot of the women and children's counselling. So, with living in the parsonage, and having both of them work - and having grown children who are no longer home, they have a little extra 'play' money. They don't take expensive vacations (hardly vacation at all - Pastor hates to miss preaching) and don't spend a lot of money on things - this is his "thing". LOL - I'm sure people talk about US having a 42 foot sailboat too (which is totally not supported by our income at all - DH's dad pays for it when DH became a pastor and we were going to sell it for lack of income to support it. He's such a sweet man!)

Well, it looks like this one is a scam. We found the car in a listing at a classic car dealership in Southampton, NY. I'm waiting to hear back from both the dealership and the E-bay guy.

Nope. I've never had either one.

Well, I take that back. I used to have four dishwashers, but they all grew up, got married, and moved away. :tongue3:

Not really. Grandson is very good about helping out - especially when I am baking or we have a large meal. :love2:

Good evening, everyone! It has been really warm here, but all that will change tomorrow night. I think Jim is sending some of his cold weather down this way. We may need our fireplace, but right now, we have the a/c on.

Hi, Ann. it is nice to meet you, too. How kind of your father in law to help you keep your sailboat. I love to sail, but in recent years I have decided that it is easier to take a cruise ship. Do you spend much time on your boat?

My son and his wife plan to buy a large sailboat and live on it when their children are grown. Their youngest is 12 so they have a few years.

We are having fun decorating, but we do seem to find some hidden dust when we move some items.

See you all in the morning!

    Hi Betty -

We DO use the boat quite a bit. DH is a pastor and gets 3 weeks off a year - and those 3 weeks are spent on the boat for vacation. Our church gets very busy during the summer so we try to take a week around the 4th of July (depending on when I get back from camp - I work at a Christian girl's camp for a week training their horses), and then again for 2 weeks at the end of August. It's a wonderful time for the family (I have 4 kids - ages almost 4, 6, 14 and 16) and we have so much fun. My DH's dream would be to move on board but I said it would have to be an awfully big boat for me to live on with 4 kids - we saw a nice 82 footer at the boat show last month and I could do that but I don't think we could afford it. LOL!!

Have your son and daughter-in-law done any sailing already? I'm on a couple of Yahoo groups for people who live-aboard or wish to someday - they're not Christian groups but they have a lot of wonderful knowledge. Let me know if they'd be interested in joining!!

Here's a pic of DH and I from this summer's trip. We were at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, CT, which is one of our favorite destinations:

Hmmm.....Sue, my dishwashers think they need a dishwasher!

Hey there, Thankful, good to see you posting again. :applause:

There was less complaining from the kids than I thought there would be. I think they were glad to see me. :D They didn't make it to karate because of their colds, but they got busy and did homework without me telling them. They really must be sick!

I'm done in after my own karate class so I'm headed for the bath and  .

    Good Morning, everyone!

Oh, Ann, if I were 20 years younger, I would be so envious of you and your sailboat. Yes, at one time, I had the yen to live on a sailboat. Yes, my children are very good sailors and live on the Florida Gulf Coast.
I have always wanted to go to Mystic Seaport. Maybe some day...
Let's see with 4 children would you notice if I sent you one more, a 9 year old girl. She loves horses. She goes to horse riding camp and I have a niece who is teaching her, but she lives in Texas and we have to make it a weekend trip for her to ride her horses.

Hi, MK, I'm going to try to make time for the BB. I have missed posting.
Oh, just the thought of my taking Karate makes me tired. Sissy didn't go last night because she said she was too tired from running at school. I think she really wanted to decorate and wrap presents.

Got to run to catch the bus...no, not me, but Sissy.

    See you later.

Good morning everyone! (even though I seem to be talking to myself. :D )

I've put on a pot of coffee and the water is hot for tea. There is a pumpkin bread pudding on the counter, coutesy of T. It's better if you warm it in the microwave.

Gotta go wake up my poor children. :( Well just two of them. Cass is most likely headed to the doc today. She just can't shake this cold thing and her throat is red as can be again this morning. Chris was mumbling but hasn't gotten up so he may be migrainey. A storm front is supposed to move through tomorrow and Chris is the best weather predictor. It's been a while since he's had a really bad migraine, so I guess he's due. We've been enjoying his progress though!

I've got to do something with the kitchen, do a run through of the rest of the house, a bit more laundry and a bit more painting. I'm going to try to rip up the carpet from Cass' room too cause the flooring needs to sit in her room a few days before it gets put down. I'm being rather ambitious with my schedule today, but tomorrow is shopping day AND I have sewing I want to get started on. Don't want all today's stuff hanging over my head tomorrow.

Kids are up. See ya later!

Hey Thankful! How'd you slip your post in ahead of me?

Karate last night was very good for me and I feel much much better this morning. You couldn't tell it last night though!

    Good morning all,

We are in for a temperature 'shock' tomorrow! It has been in the 60's and it's dropping down to below freezing with that four letter word - SNOW! Friday night it's supposed to be 11º. Brrrrrrrrrrr!

Betty, it's SO good to see you posting again! You've been missed. We can't let the 'kids' take up ALL our time...

We got several dozen cookies baked and decorated yesterday, had company for lunch, and sent out Christmas cards.

Today, we will bake many more dozens of sugar cookies. The dough is in the fridge waiting for us.

Some things I'm very crafty at - some things I'm not. I found out last night that making a gingerbread house is NOT one of the things I'm good at. The whole thing ended up in the garbage!

    Time for breakfast,

Hey Sue, you know the easy way to make a "gingerbread house"?

Just cover the right size cardboard box (cardboard milk cartons work well) with graham crackers (we use hot glue to do this), frost and decorate. If you want brown sides to your house use brown frosting in those places. Sugar cones for icecream make wonderful Christmas trees.

Everything is edible except the graham crackers!

I gotta go get dressed and then call the doc. I'd call first but they are famous for telling us to come right in!

    Good Morning Everybody,

I finally got the breakfast dishes done and.....BRB.....I'm back, I had to open the flue to "dry" the dishes.

MK - I never heard back from you so that's why you had to clean & cook yourself.

Breakfast today is Speedy Egg & Cheese Stack, Hashbrown Casserole, and Oven Breakfast Hash. Enjoy.

I am in awe of people who can create crafts. My attempts always look like some backward child who was given some Elmer's Glue and some Popsicle sticks, and who glued the sticks to the floor, and got glue in his hair.

Uhhhh, I'm gonna have to go. Seems I've glued my fingers to the keyboard.
