    Well, how exactly do you prepare for two planes crashing into two skyscrapers ? Seems like more lives were saved, than lost.

    If Bush & Guliani are to be blamed for this, then Clinton & the Chicago mayor are to be blamed for the 1995 heat wave disaster.

    I wish Olbermann & his ilk, which thankfully are dwindling, would be as mad at the bad guys.

    Yeah, I agree with that. Where Olbermann does make points I think, is with the charges of fearmongering. In any case, Rudy ain't my boy, and has no chance of getting my vote.

    Different thread. Make it if you want. This is about specifically the charges made against Giuliani. Do you think that (if I give you the point of global warming being fearmongering, which I don't believe) one side doing something wrong makes it ok? If you want to discuss climate issues, this thread isn't the place to derail.

    Let me help you out. What I said was not about global warming. That was just an example of what it was about. There is a simple difference.

    I did not say anything is ok. What I was clearly saying but some apparently have missed is that the word fear mongering is a word used against the Conservatives while the libs most certainly use such a tactic. Rather hypocritical.

    There is an interesting note here, recounted in Olbermann's book co-written with former SportsCenter co-anchor Dan Patrick:

    At an event in the mid 90s celebrating some baseball HOF players from the Yankees and old Brooklyn Dodgers, Olbermann was to be the emcee. On the dais ahead of Olbermann was then mayor Rudy. Rudy was to introduce Keith, and when he did, Rudy botched the pronunciation of Olbermann's last name. Olbermann took a shot at Rudy and Rudy's knowledge of baseball and has done so ever since, even when not in political contexts.

    I can't help but wonder if some of this doesn't play in. Olbermann has a history of burning bridges and being vitriolic with those who have disagreed with him (He pilloried SI when SI published something about hs relationship with 90s UConn basketball player Rebecca Lobo; ESPN on Fox when ESPN let him go; he did it to Fox when they let him go, et.al.).
