Found this interesting web site - we tend to think ancient civilizations were not as advanced as we think ourselves to be, they didn't write, they didn't have inventions, they weren't as intelligent, etc, etc.

But there are OOPARTS - Out Of Place Artifacts and Ancient High Technology (which can prove our perceptions about ancient civilizations could just be all wrong!!)

Thought I'd pass this along. Just found this site & will enjoy exploring it. :)

Only someone influenced by evolution would believe that the ancients were not as intelligent nor advanced as we. there was some 2000 years between Adam and the flood. This gives plenty of time for all sorts of advancements and inventions. One must also bear in mind that men lived to tremendously great ages. I have no problem with believing that the pre-diluveans were much MORE advanced than we. One must remember that our so called "advancments" have only been within the last 200 years and invented by men who rarely lived past 60 or 70 years.
Imagine the genius they must aquired by living 600-900 years. One must also remember that the intellect and physiology of men were far superior to us. We have been steadily going downhill since the flood, not upwards.

It's an interesting site, but as a caution: the section on how to be saved has a distinctly Church of Christ take on salvation.

Not only distinctly Church of Christ; I found one page called the "mathemeticians Prayer" which boldly states it IS church of Christ.

    Be warned brothers.

I've read about things like that before, those ancients were incrediably intelligents peoples. Look at the precision of the pyramids, which modern man can't duplicate without modern tools.
thanks for posting one site that has so much of it in one pace.

Probably because the website is evidently owned by the Parkway Church of Christ in Sacramento, California:

I was browsing the site and it has a lot of inaccuracies in it that have long been "debunked". For example, the Piri Reis map is not a map of Antarctica. It's a map of Africa and South America. If you just go backwards using the technique used to create the map, it fits perfectly with the coastline of South Africa, etc.

I wish sites like this wouldn't perpetuate such nonsense. Enough people already think Christians are crackpots they don't take anything we say about creation seriously.

    Samo, samo.

Christians looking for sensationalism. So much of ths stuff has been disproven. A lot of it is the exact same stuff that Van Danikan tried to use to say that we were visited by aliens who did all this stuff and he quickly fell into disrepute. Now, 30 years later some Christians are trying to use the same stuff to say that men traveled to the moon before the flood. Van Danikan ended up looking like an idiot 30 years ago, now...

And of course only we are intelligent enough to travel to the moon first, right?

And Church of Christ people simply cannot be saved, only Baptists. I think I get the drift.

Good post. It makes one quite sick at the stomach every time one sees either directly or indirectly the allusion to Baptists only in heaven. From observation, I would say lots of Baptists in hell are going to be asking for a drop of water from the saved of other denominations.

I apologize if my comment on the "Church of Christ" view of salvation led to the perception that I believe they cannot be saved. I consider my Church of Christ brethren to be brethren nonetheless. I believe they have a flawed soteriology, but their faith is still in Christ and Him crucified.

Lets just see some real evidence instead of the same old tried and bebunked stuff that Van Danikan used 30 years ago. When he used it it was crackpot, when Christians use it it is acceptable? This is all theory and conjecture to sensationalise what doesn't need sensationalising. The word of God is sensational enough.

Roger, since you say so much of this stuff (from the web site) has been disproven and are making the charge that "a lot of it is the exact same stuff that Van Danikan tried to use to say that we were visited by aliens who did all this stuff" the onus is on you to prove what stuff from the web site has been disproven and give links to support your claims.

I don't have near the time. Those who choose to believe this stuff feel free to think I don't know what I am talking about and go on believing.
