As the original moderator of this forum, I instituted the three page limit. This forum is the News Forum. not the Politics/Current Events/Polity/Theology Forum. Since the business of this forum is news, we try to keep that our focus. Further, I view us as a Headline News type of operation. We are not Jim Leherer, Nightline, 60 Minutes or someother long format type of show. Below is a quote I gave to a PM inquiry on the question:
Simply put News after three pages like three day old bread is usually stale. To keep from going stale, when a thread reaches three pages, </font>
    1. One of this forum's moderators will post a six hour warning. The six hour warning will have a This thread will be closed No Earlier Than....Eastern/Board time clause. This is to allow folks to make any final remarks.</font>
    2. Sometime after the expiration of the six hours, a moderator will post a closing message and close the thread.</font>

Yes, this is a good rule. I like the idea of it being more informational/commentary! Good job, umm, I forgot your name. Hold on.

Thank you for your comments both pro and con. This thread however was started to inform folks about the lay of the land in this forum. It was not started to begin a prolonged discussion of the matter. As the limit is not subject to debate or substantive change, it is with a bit of regret that I close this thread now that my fellow moderators have posted their concurences.
Further, please note that this forum is in the Fellowship section not the Debate section. I do look forward to comments and insights on the News of the day. But, debates are better located in those forums below.
