    I seriously doubt it will possibly be either Phil Graham or Steve Forbes. Forbes has gone basically nowhere politically two times, regardless of his qualifications,and even at a good age of 60. Sen. Graham is already 66 and seems an unlikely addition to a 71 year old Mccain, as well, should McCain get the nomination, which does seem likely, I agree.

    Gov. Sanford or Sen. DeMint might be good possible guesses, however, IMO.

    It's unlikely, and probably just wishful thinking on my part since I like him personally, but what about Newt? Gingrich is a small govt type who would pull people like me out of the lbtn party and put us back into pub territory.

    Other than picking Ron Paul there is no one that McCain can pick as his running mate that would attract my vote to him.

    Just to finish off any chance of his winning, I think McCain should pick George "Macaca" Allen. Or maybe Mark "loves male interns" Foley. :laugh:

    Lamar Alexander - a member of the Liberty GOP would be smart. Someone young, energetic, and conservative would help McCain shore up support.

    What about Elizabeth Dole?

    Haley Barbour?

    Just random thoughts.

    Alexander or Santorum would be appealing to me.

    Elizabeth Dole is an interesting thought as well.

    For practical purposes, doesn't McCain need to pick a governor so that he had someone on the ticket with executive experience. Also, he needs someone with economic credentials since he has stated that economics is not his strong suit.

    Huckabee has been mentioned. He certainly has shown vote drawing power in certain states. Whoever he picks, it needs to be someone who could run and win an election for President in the future, unlike the present VP. Republicans seem to fare better when there is a presumed party leader.
