A&E is still making money off the guy, there is a Duck Dynasty marathon on right now.

Imagine that. A&E probably didn't really care about what he said or else they would have yanked the show. But they have to play the politically correct game and hit him on the hand for all the non-Christians who watch the show and other A&E shows.

The irony of this whole thing is that A&E has kowtowed to an "audience" that doesn't even watch the show.

How many liberal/socialist gay rights activists do you suppose tune in regularly to a program featuring a Christian family that owns its own business, which is geared to those who like to call in and harvest ducks?

Oh, I don't think they'll actually kowtow. I think they'll take all the free publicity they're getting, which draws people who support the Duck dudes to their channel to support Phil & Co by watching their show, where they also display the commercials for all the other shows A&E broadcasts....

So they'll play the "equality" card and wait a few days for this to settle down, then pull Phil and the boys back because Phil and the boys are drawing viewers to their channel. They can't afford not to have them.

How much would it cost if they were to create their own network , and maybe syndicate it nationwide thru the christian networks on cable/satelite?

How about Fox network having the guts to actually take this from AE, and run it primetime Sunday?

I don't agree with all that he teaches, but are you saying that he should not be imploring peiple to get act together, thru receiving Jesus as their Lord and saviour then?

walmart has a big say in this, as the Duck Dynasty merchandise been raking in pretty profits to them!

maybe they should combine their resources with other wealthy conservative/christians, and form own network, which can syndicate duck soup to the masses!

    Then again, maybe not ...

If that is the case, they'll be snapped up by another network quicker than you can say "Duck Commander" and A&E will be left to wonder why they are so stupid.

There are times when what you have to say is right and you have the right to say it, but what about "Discretion is the greater part of valor"?

You're absolutely correct. In a business sense, they should be revelling in all the advertising they're not having to pay for right now, because we all know controversy increases ratings. Look at what happened with Chick-fil-A; how much you wanna bet the next few days sees viewership of "Duck Dynasty" exponentially increase?

It would be the biggest business mistake if A&E goes through with dropping them, especially if their reasoning is for a lot of "offended" people who don't really watch the show in the first place!

Thankfully, neither Jesus or Paul followed that advice very often!

Compared to this incident, your quote seems to be more geared to answering your wife when she asks, "Do I look fat in this swim-suit?"

Now here your advice is most assuredly sound!!!!:1_grouphug:

Huh? Even Trevin Wax, editor of the SBC curriculum "The Gospel Project", had this to say about Phil's racial pronouncements:

"I find those comments absolutely absurd and a sad example of white tunnel-vision. What shocks me is that Robertson didn’t get suspended for those remarks but for his most recent remarks about homosexuality. It shows just how effective the gay rights movement has been in equating sexual orientation with race, that egregiously racial remarks are less controversial than saying homosexuality is sinful."

I still don't see why folks are now bringing race into this because they think he implied that Blacks were happier during Jim Crow.

He stated his experience. In his limited experience growing up, that's what he experienced. Who cares if it doesn't mesh with the majority? It's what he recalls experiencing.

    A spokesperson for the NAACP

I don't recall reading anywhere that he specifically mentioned Jim Crow. The NAACP spokesperson even mentions that Robertson said "from what he saw" so how on God's green earth are they gonna turn around and say what he saw is inaccurate because he didn't see the lynchings and the beatings of black men and women?"

    This is stupid.

That man can say whatever he wants to. He just has to deal with the fallout and the consequences. He better not apologize for telling the truth.

I do hate that this show is getting press.
