Let Me Go: My Mother and the SS by Helga Schneider. The true story of Helga Schneider meeting and talking to her mother for a second time. Her mother abandoned her in 1941. They only met twice after 1941. As a member of the SS her mother was a guard at Auschwitz. Only the toughest and meanest SS women were sent as guard to that camp. Helga's mother never repented of her deeds, never showed any sorrow and from her words believed she did what was right. She did serve a prison term after WW II which she believed was unjust.

We never or at least seldom hear of German victims of Nazi parents. This is a tough read, but one that is very enlightening.
