There is more than six reasons why we should evangelize, but there is only one reason we do . . . love.

Love for the Gospel let's me talk of little else, and love for others and the desire to see them reconciled.

As a Calvinist I object to Rippons behavior. He is constantly correcting my grammar and even after asked to stop continues to do so.

Blessedwife is another Calvinist whom I object to her behavior as 85% of her posts are an attack on me!

I was not trying to gang up on Rippon. I certainly did not single him out. I responded to what was posted toward me.Also, there is a difference between reproof and an attack. You need to learn the difference.

Correction:You should have used the possessive form for the noun Rippon. It should be : Rippon's behavior. Don't forget to use the apostrophe. It's small, but necessary.

    No, it should be:
______ is another Calvinist whose behavior is objectionable because a majority of her posts are attacks on me!

    Or:

______ is another Calvinist with whom I object because most of her posts are against me.

Did you say Dr. Mohler? DHK has a visceral hatred for the man. He has said all manner of evil things about him.

Yeah. Do you object Jerome? :)

"With whom I object" is a bit stilted and too fancy --but it is proper. Evan's attraction to "whom" has been apparent for quite some time. I have humored him here.

You certainly don't think "whom I object to" is acceptable. Do you?

You have to give sample phrases or sentences.

Evan said :"whom I object to." I find that objectionable.

"I object to that line of reasoning" is good to go.

"I object with that characterization" is perfectly fine.

In writing, don't end sentences with prepositions, but I love it. Talking about the objective form of the pronoun with the verb, object!

There's a poem in there somewhere!

And it's "to whose behavior I object"

Isn't if wonderful how the fault finders derail and destroy one thread after another. Rather than working to discuss evangelism, many are simply shouting my grammar is better than ....

Christ commanded us to be the light of the world - fallen mankind. Instead, bickering, slandering, demeaning has become our forte.

As Churchill may have said, "Is this the sort of tommy-rot up with I must put?

    Good list.

I think we need to keep in mind that evangelism is simply a natural part of the Christian life. If we live intentionally in Christ, yielding ourselves to the Spirit, engaging Christ in discipleship, loving God and our neighbors, and doing good works in our vocations and social/family lives, we will evangelize as a by-product of that life in deed and word.

Of course the Christian life of discipleship is intentional. You don't just drift into it or through it.

Sir Winston Churchill was known for hating to end both complete clauses and indicative sentences with the preposition "with."

When complaining about a person's lack of abilities in carrying out a task the PM gave him, he'd usually give that person a written reprimand such as:

"This is a situation up with which I shall not put!"

Indeed. This "object with" business conjured up by Rippon has me scratching my head too.
